Zone values his privacy probably more-so than anything else. He's been with Hentaikey from the beginning and they seem to have reliably kept his information hidden.

If he were to go to any other outlet, he would have to register with them, and personally, if I were Zone, I wouldn't trust anybody to protect my information with the amount of fame I've accrued. You know that some fucker would take that information, they quit their job, sell it to some fucker Gawker site, and release Zone's name or something for all the world to see and once that's out there, he can never claw it back.

He probably has family and doesn't want them to know what he does. There's no shame in wanting to avoid shame.

Look at his work on Skullgirls - I'm willing to bet that his personal information is held to the highest of security standards - something he probably couldn't trust to a large developer where any fucking accounting detail can get shuffled to the wrong person. Stuff in government gets leaked because often there's no personal attachment - it's just a word "classified". With Zone, it's probably personal, not only does it state in his contract he does not want named credit, he has been given someone's word at Hentaikey and Revenge Labs, and that probably holds much stronger than any global organization with significantly more power and money.

Every time I open the newspaper I see "insider source speaking on conditions of anonymity", I just think, "some fucker is playing pretend Snowden and has broken their covenant to stay fucking silent". Zone can't count on big companies like Patreon to do that for him.
