Does Ren'Py actually force people to update to the latest version? It's not like it's Java that depends on JRE and HAS to be updated, because people usually get every Java JRE update, so your code potentially becomes obsolete.

In Unity you can just keep using the legacy versions if you can't be arsed to adapt to the new versions. There's still a lot of people using the 4.x version of Unity and We're getting 5.5 in November.

DiCK-Dev here, sorry for the slow art updates, but I've been working on the code the whole week actually!

As I said I will be coming here at fridays to talk about our progress, no new art this week tho.

Tho im new in unity the engine has a lot of documentation so its been easy to catch up with it. So far I have done the code for:
-A working combat system (turn-based, pretty similar to CoC)

-An inventory system

-scene navigation

-A parser (tests show that works as intended but I would like it to work with something else than "blabla" + charGenre + "blabla", but the result should be the same)

And right now im finishing the save and loading, it works (saving in an actual file and loading it).

Next things in line are: Char creation and time cycle, and followers.

In char creation we were thinking in having the next options: Some options for height, Weight, genre, basic monster-races (feline, wolf, bunny probs), hair+fur color, eye color, skin color, "Combat Type" (like pokemon type, it will do more dmg to certain enemies, less to others) and "Persuasion type" (every char has 2 types, one for its physical attacks and other for the lust attacks)

There is anything you guys would like to have in a char creation?

For example for combat I only need 1 script, and one UI, when you just enter a new scene the first thing the new scene does is to save some global variables (the enemy ID pretty much) which then the script for combat loads,

Briefly read through the scripts and there's one thing that's tickling me the wrong way:
the addItem method is sooo big, lol.

You should split it into smaller methods and do something like this:

It's more readable like this. I've added the item parameter to my convenience here, but you probably know what I mean.

Anyway Genre should be calculated taking several factors: If you have a dick, vagina, or both, how much breast do you have, maybe your figure, among other things.

Genre is more static, based on what you have and what not, and that allows you to participate in a scene or not (you cant get a blowjob without a penis, in the end), BUT there is also a stat named "Feminity", the higher, more likely people will call you as female (some NPC may be more prone to call someone as femenine than others i.e.), and this takes into account other factors in a more abstract way: If your dick is too small maybe no one will notice, but if its fucking HUGE, well, it will be obvious. Also, in real life if you saw a bearded woman you still would likely know that she is a woman, even if its uncommon its not impossible, and in a world where people transforms into monsters, well, they have to guess half the time.
