I'm guessing it is more time requirements. If the artists takes too long on a sketch, and then the customer wants a lot changed, that artist just wasted quite a bit of time. That can be annoying to both sides.

Still, if an artist likes a sketch and really wants to get their point across, adding more detail might be a better way to "sell" it as the best option.

I doubt it is a matter of being "too good."

Eh, like all White Wolf games WoD has some severe disconnect between the kind of setting it is, the kind of game it wants to be, and the kind of game it actually is. Also it's pretty unintuitive to actually get a group of characters that actually will get along and interact with each other, even just playing a Vampire only game causes problem. Which is like the one thing a P&P game needs to do right.

Also the setting attracts a lot of That Guys and each clan has their own brand of them. Fishmalks are the worst.

It's a cool idea on paper though and I like to try to make it work. Which is also how I feel about Exalted too and really all of WW's stuff.
