So I've been working on a game for a few months now, and will probably have a playable "pre-alpha" by about January. It will have the programming and writing done, but here's the problem: it doesn't have art. All that's there is placeholder images.

What would be the best way to go about getting art for my game? I don't want to start trying to get people until I have something substantial to show, but I'm unfamiliar with the process. The way I see it I have two main options:

1) ask for volunteer help (unlikely that artists will do this)
2) put up the pre-alpha as a demo, try and start a patreon, and use that money to get commissions.

Point is if you're looking to start a patreon then you'll make the money back eventually. It's an investment not an expense.

If it's really impossible then you could always learn to draw yourself. Honestly, have you seen some of the artwork in some of these games? Even as a complete beginner you can't be much worse. And even if it is much worse make sure your audience knows it's only placeholder art until you can afford to replace it.

For 3 intrigue, take an apple from the camp, go to the forest and feed the guy lying on the ground (do it the first time you talk to him or he dies, make sure you have the apple), then talk to him at the entrance to the camp. He'll ask you to go search for his girlfriend. Go north to the place where the witch is selling medicine, then go west until you find a bunch of skeletons. Examine the one in the middle, choose "Play dead" (there's no GoR for choosing wrong, so don't bother). Go talk to guy in entrance to camp again and lie about his girlfriend. -Retooled a lot of numbers for the fights and rewards. Tried to make every tier more balanced.

-lowered the numbers of tokens needed for each upgrades.

-lowered the penalties for getting destroyed, and coming back to town after retreating or not fighting at all.

-Added 8 events in the desolation.

Usually I just use one tone of shadow for the whole drawing, as far as I know thats how light/shadow behaves (shadows I think irl are usually influenced by ambient lighting, thats why shadows at night are kinda bluish, but someone can correct me here since im not expert)

About the body, i saw your earlier sketches, that's what i was mostly refering to, but the face could be looking bit "sharper", althought it's probably just your way of drawing.

And last thing about the shadings, colors on skin look too much like she was beaten up or something (probably too little of originial color inside the shadow) and I would smooth the transition from light to shadow a bit...

The wings you did needed work, but you do need then as they provide a warm color to balance out the massive amounts of blue, and also a visual balance against the wide skirt. What about instead of doing realistic wings (is that what you were going for?) you do an iconic pair of wings as an aura (one color, not necessarily opaque, and rather than looking realistic, it could have an outline a bit like the wings of the Holy Roman eagle?

I feel that the byzantine eagle straddles the line between stylization and realism in a way that wouldn't work as well in pretty much any context besides the one it was actually used in (basically what we'd call a logo these day). I was 2 CGs away from being done with the artwork last Saturday. I've been working on it this week. After the artwork is done, I have sound and a final edit. To give you an idea on artwork, Claire's Quest aims to complete 2-3 CGs per month. So, completing a CG is not something I finish in a day, it takes time.

When it is released, you can always check ULMF, LoK or Hongfire. I'll update the thread title saying Chapter 1 is released. Thanks.

What's new in version 0.2?
- 2 new sex event + a mini groping event, for a total of 16 sex / naked images!

- 4 standing images for new character ( Duncan - the guards captain, Borden - the local drunkard, Josef and Adele - the old couple) + a new image for Waitress Nicci and a new outfit for Risa

- We have a new succubus! All hail Helith! ( I actually did a standing picture for her too, but you will "officially" meet her on the next version!)

- I've added a script to the game, so that now you will run in authomatic, and pressing the shift button will instead make you walk ( since you will have to walk around a lot, i suppose this will make everyone more happy =P )

You don't even need cheat engine. Just scrape together some gold and go to the shop as soon as you can. Sell cards and buy boosters, repeat x amount of times. You will make more money than a booster costs 90 percent of the time. You can do that until you have the best cards and more money than you will need. Probably takes longer than cheat engine but for people who don't know how to use cheat engine this way works.

How much fur is too much fur? The concept is that parts of the game play out in VR/the Metaverse, and so people have furfag avatars (and a few real-world body modifications, but those are cybernetic and not "GRAFT THE WOLF SNOUT TO MY FACE AWOO").

I just want those sweet, sweet furry dollars, and am willing to concede ideological purity to the practical reality that Second Life and all future virtual sandbox worlds will be overrun with degenerates. Plus, with stuff like monsters and classical beasts, you get a lot of symbolic characterization by giving characters monstrous avatars. Someone with a serpent/naga avatar isn't to be trusted, someone with a rabbit avatar is naive, etc.

I've been working on scenario and world for the better part of a year, and am getting better at programming, but I'm not ready to release anything yet. Would you play a cyberpunk game with furry elements? What's a dealbreaker for you? What would let you overlook content that is otherwise not to your taste? Do you want characters who are waifubait or should most of the porn be pretty impersonal? Would you be able to take a GitS-style plot seriously even when there's content you find silly/objectionable?
