Audio is handled by the libraries you are using, so playing/stopping a sound is just a call to an external library which shouldn't be that much different in different languages.

Dynamic map generator can be trickier. Is that a 3d game? you are talking about gravity, but also you are talking about tiles so it is probably a 2d side scrolle (or something like terraria) r? If it is a 2d game that new map is generated as you scoll, it really shouldn't be that expensive. Number of tilesets or how many different tiles are there is not as important as how random map generator works.

Physics in 2d game is not really that expensive either.

Number of main character powerups shouldn't have any effect on performance.

I never suggested game maker. I didn't use it so can't really about its performance. I just said instead of going full low level and doing everything from scratch is no good.

It's a 2D game, side-scroller; there's a demo in the pastebin (Future Fragments).

The thing about the audio is that there's just a ton of it, and a lot of it is changing in real time/playing out of randomized audiobanks, etc.

For the maps, it's not so much that the new map is generated as you scroll, it's that it uses the algorithms in the above video to pick what tiles would fit the new parts of the map while you're already on that same map, without making the character clip through the map. I'd say more, but I'm already spoiling a lot, lol.

The powerups I was told specifically would be harsh on performance because some of them run things like "how many enemies are on screen, alter their damage per number of enemies on screen at any one given time" or "adjust their ring of sight if you have a certain power up", that sort of thing.

My bad about the gamemaker misunderstanding then, I thought you were saying GM could do all this and that was the core argument :P I think one big reason he wanted to do everything from scratch is he's a stickler about not using anyone else's pre-made-work (this is why he doesn't want to use any free sound effects, why he wants to have the music swapped out for self-composed music, which I mean, I agree with to some extent).

QSP has started becoming a thing and I preffer it to RPGM because a QSP game can have a lot more content and replayability.
The only drawback is that most QSP games come with photos from porn shoots instead of 3D/2D art, and they're very inconsistent.
But well, so long as they can get me in the mood to fap, I prefer quantity over quality. Because in the end of it all, the longer a game can keep you fapping the less time you'll have to spend looking for another one next. And anyway, I'm tired of RPGM games "updates" with which you're done in like 20 minutes.

Really it isn't hard to find all of the scenes without the guide. Just have to save a lot so you can reload certain conversations and test different party members to try to maximize corruption and affection gains (kind of like Dragon Age).
You can also try to scrounge the official forum for any additional mentions of h-scenes (it is often mentioned in the patch notes, so you could read the patch notes sequentially.)

Also, try to keep your morality high as it is a requirement for one ally (I think you can be corrupt at the same time, but I'm not 100% sure.) There is no low morality companion yet, though they plan to add it eventually.

Genuinely skilled programmers who are ok with working on porn and have a lot of free time are really hard to find. I haven't tested out anyone who's emailed me yet, but ASANTE, who I know is an absolute monster at coding, said that doing the HTML5 port for Magic Matchup, a very small game compared to Future Fragments, was an absolute nightmare.

The biggest reason for this, he said, was that the HTML5 module for GameMaker is absolute trash and heavily breaks the game in countless places, and there's no way to easily find out where these errors are originating from within the new HTML5 version (unlike if it were still in GM), so it's a lot of trial and error/time consumption, which is why I put down that time required to do it; not because it's really technically difficult, but because it's extremely time-consuming to check all of this by hand.

I can only imagine how much of a clusterfuck it would be for Future Fragments, honestly. But that said, once I get the code, I'll send it to everyone who emailed me and have them skim through it real quick to see if they think it's manageable, and then I'll see who feels the most confident with it and pick one of them, then godspeed to them.

When is the next behind dune update? I love the art.

Protip: Make your hero the Guardian class (the one you get from the dwarf in Oakshire.) Slap the heaviest defense items on the hero. Then every battle you have your hero Provoke and let your team do the damage. Quickly you'll learn Shield Bash which hits all enemies with about the same damage as a normal attack and has a chance to stun them.

The only party members that I don't find proficient in battles are Roderick and Demoness. Perhaps Galhart too, if the hero is a guardian.
Clawyn and Meredith are easily the most OP party members.
