My thirsty ass just really wanted to make some Zone-esque animations with Manny Calavera so I took some free time and got the model done because I'm pathetic. If other people benefited from it I'd be surprised but very happy nonetheless.

Well, I made a promise and I stayed up all night to do it. Struggled with trying to do a sticky lips rig, but I'm not a rigger (or really a great animator) and it's outside my expertise. If anyone knows anything about that I'd love to hear it.

So this gif is far from perfect but it is all with joint animation, not vertex. There's some stuff that is super sloppy (Manny's eyes didn't want to cooperate) and that's also a really lazy stand-in tentacle, but I'm going to work more on this when I can and get it to a usable level. May have to re-rig the face because as it stands I have the controls sitting in front of it, I think they'd be better in a GUI off to the side, but that's no big deal.

OP here with an apology, I've never done face rigging before so if there's a gap in my updates it means I tried something that didn't work, wasted a lot of time and have to start over.

is right, if you're playing it blind you really can't speedrun it, but why would you want to? The fun of it is all the easter eggs and flavor text, each time I play it there's some new obscure piece of dialogue I discover.

OP here and sorry about the delay. I have a regular job and art contracts so my time gets limited. I'm having some real trouble with the face rigging so I'm going to get some help with it and hopefully will have an update soon. I mean I don't know how many people care but I know a few people are interested and I'd feel like a shithead making this thread all excited than abandoning it.
Like once I have the rig system set up I can do any skelly character I want.

Grim is one of my favorite games, I've already clocked act 1 down to under the world record (on both the original and remastered, though I am using the remastered version). Life is getting in the way of running though, so I haven't got the latter acts down. The big problem is how the remastered version handles cutscenes, they can bug out and crash the game if you skip them immediately which can be a terrible occurrence in the late game.

Other than that, the run can be optimized pretty well, dialogue can be skipped, and mouse controls can be used while manny runs, which I read in multiple places was impossible, which is simply not true.

as for why I'm running, I have no idea. It's my first speedgame, but that probably stems from the fact that it has less than 5 runners ever, and only 2 of those seem to be active. I think I can crack it.
