She's a being forged from clay by the gods, I think her sexual orientation can be pretty much anything she likes. But even if we assumed her biology worked like a normal human, there'd still be no reason why she couldn't declare herself straight and not bother with any same-sex relationship after meeting her first man. The reason why you wouldn't want that is because you'd get a really awkward "I was only into women growing up because there was no other choice, now I'm a well-adjusted heterosexual" vibe that you really couldn't expect most writers to handle with any sort of finesse.

There's actually been research done. Male sexuality is hard-wired in from birth, but female sexuality is very fluid and social. Women can be straight, go lesbian, and then go back to straight. If a man did that, he'd just have been bisexual from the start.

In that sense, all women have the potential to be bisexual, while not all men do.

Human civilization exists in its own time and place, there's no forwards or backwards, no progress or regress, just changes. Pointing to the year to suggest a situation should not be as it is does not mean anything. The artists of 2010 arguably had more creative freedom than the artists of 2005 or the artists of 2016 for example.
