I agree somewhat about these bodies not matching their bodies in the show, but as far as how this artist drew and colored them, I would rather see them drawn more closely to Dandon Fuga's style of art than, say, the way Zimmerman or ALX might draw them. In fact, I think I may have the OP's tan lines pic made into a 24 x 18 poster on Ebay and hang it with some of the other toon pics I've had printed out and framed.

There was only ever supposed to be a Season 1. It was just meant to be a short follow-up on the world of Avatar, what the place would be like a few decades later. That's also (to answer what I assume was your previous post) why she only gets Avatar State at the end; that was supposed to be indicative of her completed character arc. When the execs saw how well it performed, they ordered a Season 2, and it ended up being a rush job. This is also why the plot and villain for that season is way more generic, and the source for about half the complaints you might have about it. Whole thing was a total shitshow because it was never supposed to happen and then had to happen anyway in a fraction of the time.

If you can just get through the rest of it, though, Seasons 3 and 4 are better.

Season 2’s writing finished June 2012, the same month season 1 finished airing. In the commentaries they mentioned they took about six weeks to get together, narrow down and refine the bulk of the season 2's story.

Yet they already were told then that their budget was going to be cut for the future. Seasons 3 and 4 were going to have one less minute per episode. Writing has to be turned in before it is animated. There is no "Hey guys, it's great you are working on animating this. But we need you to shave off a minute in each episode. Okay bye." The scripts were already written to accommodate they change in budget.

Yet what kills it is that, knowing all this, Bryan and Mike still wasted time on ridiculous things and introduced things and characters that served no purpose other than being another body in a fight.

The writing gets reviewed. If they want to have them cut or change something, the have to. And if they can't be creative in what they change or if they don't play their cards right it can hurt the product even more.

Because then the spirits would just stay in their world and dislike humans instead of actively trying to cross over and hurt people. A plot that has a spirit causing others to go berserk and the spirits actually not liking that they are losing control could have worked if they gave the spirits that angle. Korra defeating Vaatu could have made the spirit world change from gloomy and dark to brighter and not so gloomy since the miasma infecting everything for 10,000 years would be contained in Raava once again. The spirits can still be jerks, but Korra helping them would be her doing her self imposed duty and leaving the portals opened would have been for the spirits who are curious about the human world and want to move about now that Satan isn't hardening their hearts.

Not that I recall. Aang never made it into the Spirit World until the season 1 finale when he actually meets Koh. Aang tries to meditate during the Solstice in the encounter with Hei Bai but it doesn't work and his spirit is trapped in the real world floating about in an astral projection way that no one can see except Iroh.

We only see the Spirit World when he's searching for Koh. Never before and never after. Any other "spirity" things are the dreamscape type that he has when Roku is leading him and informing him.

He can't earthbend properly but he can metalbend those damn bombs? Where is the basic logic there? And he made walls out of those rings when he was fighting in the arena during the movie, so why not now when you're fighting the same kind of bender?

But even without Zuko stuff stuck for the most part, Aang learned to take some things head on because of earthbending, Sokka became a better strategist and fighter. Toph and Katara I'll give you, they didn't do much until he came around.
