I'm having an issue on Princess Trainer Gold. I'm trying and I'm continuing to try, but the "The favorite customer" mission is not popping up. I've bought everything from the shop, I've talked to her on multiple days, I've even had sex with Dahlia a couple of times and maxed out Jas's obedience and shame meters. I'm on v2.03

Also, for some reason, Iris is not popping up at the Red Phoenix, despite me having done the mission that lets her get signed up as one. I'm currently on Iris Trainer though, do I have to finish that before she starts appearing?

Honestly, because making a game is a lot of work, and until recently I was working full time.
I'm working on 4 Houses because it's fun to do so, but it's very much something I do in my spare time. I used to freelance as a graphic designer during my Uni days and to be honest I hated it. Setting up a Patreon would let me work to my own schedule and desires (provided I could get enough backers) but I worry that I would grow to hate what is currently a fun way to spend my free time just like I did when I used to freelance.

So I, being the fool that I am, decided to try my hand at making a trainer game in Renpy, which was easy enough until I tried to actually put some porn in it. Needless to say my skills in MS paint did not quite satisfy my desire to produce quality content, so the purchase of a graphics tablet and some extensive practice with proper programs was called for.

That however is going to take some time, and in that time I'm going to put out something shitty so I can keep playing with Renpy some more, that way I'll be experienced at that by the time I can draw worth a damn. I found at least 2 new events, the one you can access via console and another one in the hallway. He wrote different stuff for different corruption status of both characters. It's not like he did nothing. The only problem this guy has is that whenever he gets trolled in the /stg/ he takes it out on the people who paid money to him which is considered a 'dick move' in bird culture.

I do not know how many events are broken due to the transitioning and I do not know how much new stuff is in. But while it's not much with only these 2 events it is still a considerable amount. Now if only tropic would stop shitting on the people that support him and improve his work ethic while also providing a bit transparency he would not be so bitter.

Alright after actually reading (on google) stealing a games code is actually pretty hard, and mostly worthless. You can also apparently possibly be sued though considered unlikely as proof is hard to come by.

Therefore, if I want to make a Sengoku Rance clone but have money and no patience to learn code, how much money would I need to throw at it to get it to a working state?

I know there are cheap coders and such out there, but as a project like this would take time I imagine peeps will want to be paid a decent rate or completion fee.

You can extract all the image assets from Sengoku Rance easily. Only alicesoft has the actual source code. It would take a total programming novice years to recreate Sengoku Rance.

However RenPy does sound like a good starting point to create a VN with some freedom in which I could hire a low skilled freelance programmer to do anything requiring effort.

I know that all of these questions make me stink like an idea's guy, which is frowned upon, but seeing Tropics failing VN bullshit on a frequent basic had me thinking about this for far too long.

If he was getting on average $500 a month, between himself, a coder and an artist, then that's on average $150+ each month for something that they would spent a couple of hours a week on.

If a proper basement build was released to the quality level of a decent VN/ST then the amount he would receive would go up substantially. Therefore would it not have made sense to simply hire someone to fix the bugs outright, release the beta and enjoy the following months of excessive patronage for a game in which simply adding in more events/scenes over a period of several weeks (requiring no further complex coding) make more sense in a business model?

I am as you can now probably tell, someone with a successful business. VN/ST are simply a small interest, but in the long run, if the game would pay for itself in the end, and even bring a profit thus covering the extra hours, why don't more people simply put together a team with a reasonable business model by using someone like myself and actually make a few quid out of it?

In fact, I'm almost tempted to prove my theory on a working business model I have in mind. Based on the above, would there be anyone interested in a position working for me, such as someone being an artist and someone familiar enough with Renpy a few hours a week for a monthly payment guaranteed based on a percentage of a patron (with a minimum payment of course)?

Ragnarok Online's source code was released shortly before it's 'official release' as a game and because of it they've had a persistent private server problem.

Before Patreon existed, it was even harder with only a few rare successes. Can you tell me any successful western VNs? Each 'group' I can think of each have their own niche. Hanako Games caters to Females, and didn't hit 'big' until Long Live the Queen. Winter Wolves goes for the LBTG crowd as does Christine Love. HuniePop only made it big because of fun gameplay and writing that people didn't expect in a commercial game, as well as viral marketing. That leaves Dharker Studios, which recoup their costs (obviously) but their games are pretty panned on Steam.

The main issue is definitely that theyre way too short, just like any other game genre, if you arnt hitting atleast 20 hours, its just not good enough. Which means you need an actual writer due to it being 99% writing.
Then on top of that almost none of these companies are hitting that sweet spot that all the best VNs like Majikoi hit. VNs are best at displaying someone just living their life, then sometimes that live involves romance or a plot, not the other way around.

I look at all of these VNs and they just meh the shit out of me.
