It does look like those old games, but it's not just that it looks generic, she actually looks bad in those drawings. The proportions are slightly off and the softness from the Disney version is missing completely, which makes it give off a very cold and sterile feeling.
Beauty and the Beast has a very warm style to it and failing to replicate that will always make it look weird, unless you draw that character in a completely different style. They stayed too close to it and lost the charm at the same time though.
But I guess that's just me being into Disney and drawing that stuff too much myself.

The proper way to go about it would be to introduce a variable for time of day, which we'll call ToD.
You need to figure out what value of ToD means what, f.e. 0 is morning, 1 is noon, 2 is evening and 3 is night. Of course you could have a lot more possible values.
You have a label such as "endday", which sets the variable to your start value and does whatever else needs done at the end of the day (like adding the money) and then advances to the label with the actual content for the next day.
Now you are in the label you have your actions in and somewhere in the code for each action, you increase ToD.
This allows you to have actions not taking up time (don't increase ToD) or taking up more time (ToD gets increased more, f.e. from 1 to 3) and actions only available at certain times of day (if statements checking whether ToD is in the appropriate range).
And if ToD is equal to or larger than a certain number, you go back to your endday label and it all begins again from the beginning.
This is just the gist of it, but the rest should mostly be making the system more robust or refined for whatever you need it.
