I tried do a joint thing with a programmer before but when my paying job started going crazy and pushed more hours on me and transferring me to others stores it became hard to keep on schedule, so I broke it off hoping he would take what he did do and find a artist who wasn't heavily occupied like I was.

Believe me I would like nothing more than to have a programmer by my side helping me, or helpin them. However many people don't understand the time constraints the to differentiate from.
From my understanding, programmers are more easy to copy and paste previously made code and adapt them to the current situation, which while difficult Is no where near the time that a artist requires for art and even longer for animation, which is why during a lot of Game Jams you don't see a lot of good art. A lot of Programs and engines have built-in functions that quicken programmers even more.
Don't get me wrong I have nothing but the upmost respect for programmers. I have numerous Books on how to program but they all go over my, you have to have a different mindset to program which is why they are so valuable.
I have great ambitions but only half the skills needed, and finding the other half is hard for many reasons. Some of the reasons are even my fault.

There are pros and cons to each side, but ultimately neither makes an adequate substitute for the other. I think you have to have some modicum of content to attract supporters, but I don't think it's fair to describe Tropic's builds as "skeletons". They still have some lewd content, even if there aren't any CGs. Personally, I went towards the other extreme, though I'm not entirely convinced it was better, "morally" speaking. Plus, it always felt a bit hollow to have released a showcase rather than something with more tangible gameplay, like the Super Mom demos. Monetarily, Tropic started his Patreon in the same month I started mine, and we only surpassed the amount he's getting now in the month when we announced DearEditor as our artist. I can't speak for the relative progress any further, though, so that depiction might not be entirely accurate.

It's hard to tell what people want to see before the completion of the game. I guess it depends from person to person.
