That’s everything I can think of for the moment. Most other stuff is a maybe depending on what exactly you want. I'm just saying to use something to better illustrate your skill in progression, that final painted pic is pretty awful and shows nowhere near the skill the previous pics. So, you're on a porn board, and one of your examples is a Skull Logo that doesn't display any knowledge of anatomy and is a very poor reference for your ability to ink line-art.

Alright, so three good-looking artists so far as potential artists for a monthly-or-so pic depending on the pledge. Are all three willing to go the taboo 10-tier pledge route, or does that cause the choices to narrow down to only Aya or just Aya and one other?

How does the choosing for that process go, anyway? Do you just divvy up all the names together in a pile, so to speak, and then throw them in equal amounts of randomly-chosen patrons to each artist to cover that month?

Either way, 25 for a guaranteed monthly featuring 1-2 characters is hard to resist...

All three are perfectly fine with doing young characters and have done so in the past, Kirael and Aya are already doing weekly comic pages of that. I have a list of suggestions with the names of the patrons attached to them. Unless someone new comes along I pick someone who hasn't had a suggestion done the longest. New patrons always get priority.

But the guaranteed slot would allow me to do an additional suggestion so I can bump it up to 5 or even 6 a month. As of now Aya will most likely be the pin up artist, I just had Amon come in and do one so my comic can have more of a buffer.

No problem, I like talking to people and getting insight into what they want and are interested in.

Here's something from the top tier. I had to raise the price for this due to the limited amount of work my artists can do and the fact that they're mainly busy on other stuff. This one is a guaranteed page each month at $60. I have another patron who was grandfathered in under the previous terms of the $25 price so that's why he gets a page a month.

The only reason for the changes is that it's hard to find other artists that fill my list of needs for comic pages I need flexibility in what they're willing to do and have to know they can deliver. I doubt I'll do anything more than merely add more spaces for the tiers.

I got called on for a Code Geass story and a FFXIV story another time that each got kinky and fetishy, and I knew very little of either of them. Commissioners in those cases seemed fine with giving me links to wikis and the like for details and leaving it to me to fill in as best as could be done (I suppose it mattered less on the latter though what with character customization and all).

Really depends on what the client wants. I wrote one thing that took place in the Elder Scrolls universe but with pretty much nothing to do with the lore of the place so, with the help of a few acquaintances, I got some names to situate the piece and that was about it

Another time I wrote about Senran Kagura and I watched a few videos and checked the wiki for the character to get a gist of how she would talk

There's also the possibility of the client wanting something completely different from the character, like a Wii Fit Trainer story where she's a soft dom. I did some research on her lines and included it in the story to add to her character

The big problem with patreons Ive been in is that even if you like an artist you almost always end up paying for art you don't want to see because their rewards are chances to vote on pictures and who always wins votes? the same mega popular shit that gets drawn all the time anyways. Not really interested in paying some guy to draw yet another picture of Korra or Raven or whatever shit that already has 9000 pages on paheal. I may sound like Im being a sore loser but Im paying largely for my own enjoyment.

I will say I think patreon can work if the artist in question has an actual project or goal their working on beyond "I draw the boobies" like if they have an ongoing comic or animation or whatever. Games are an automatic no for me. I get there's a lot of work involved but there's also no guarantee of an actual release and Ive seen long running projects whose updates have been practically insignificant or people who build their game out sideways instead of finishing routes. "Yeah I know the current girls route hit a dead end but what if we add new girls who are also at dead ends"
