The preschools are thinner and less absorbent than some of ABUs other diapers, since they're meant to be more discrete. But, if you like the design, go for it. You can always bulk up by buying some of their boosters, which I would absolutely recommend.

I feel it's a bit too edgy for my tastes. We can work something like it into the justification though.

Tribals wear diapers because they're hunter gatherers; this means that first they can't stop for toilet breaks while moving and hunting and such and secondly, by going to the toilet, they'd leave a trail for larger predators to follow them. Having diapers means that you can keep moving and that you won't have a giant t-rex like monster chasing after your tribe and eating you all. Perhaps that parasite or disease also exists but it's not the sole reason why diapers are neccesary; perhaps certain spots are safe and certain spots aren't. Either way the precise knowledge for it can be lost to the tribal women. We can also do some more stuff with this; like for example within this society due to the importance of wearing diapers, those who go without are shunned, seen as anaethema, etc and are either beaten, left for dead, or forced into diapers depending on the clemency and the tribe in question (especially if say, an exploratory team finds their planet, comes down, gets captured and forced into diapers, then the diaper-wearing space marine girls come down who wear them all the time because gotta always be combat ready).

Different tribes have different patterns, styles, decorations on their diapers and these are pretty important; more warrior-focused tribes may also have a trophy pole with the diapers captured displayed on it, as to lose one's diaper in this society it to lose one's life. Also a punishment, an extreme banishment equivalent of a death sentence would be to be stripped of your diaper and cast out.
