Wonder Woman's look would be more heavy duty but at the same time graceful, with a more metallic and armored skin like Magog, only of course covering her entire body, which also happens to coincided with her gladiator inspired outfit, her tiara would merge with her face to create a crown/helmet of horns and wings inspired by her God of War days, and finally she would have her legs permanently locked in an almost ballerina pose that would be a subtle reference the Satyrs of Greek mythology.

Its probably like some sort of mind melting, like a more aggressive version of Pacific Rim where one person is just reduced to her most basic state.

Over time Barb develops a more passive control mechanism, like a headband/crown she can wear at all times that gives her ability to give Cass general commands that don't require the degree of active tactical control of a combat situation that Barb just reduces Cass to a servant. Well, the nanites built a helmet for Cass, so I'm think they have different softness and hardness levels.

Depending where the body needs protection and mobility it can either be tattoo tight, and in other parts of the body more like high tech armor. An electrical current is run through it, and depending on the material used, it can give it more protection but at the sacrifice of weight and speed, however when being used by someone like Wondy or Supergirl it wouldn't make much difference.

So yeah, I'm thinking the more "padded" look might look something like the tactical suits in Metal Gear...but you know...sexier.

You guys have hit on most of what the original nanites could be for this stuff. Here's a couple ideas I tossed around with some friends working on it.

The nanites could form rudimentary stuff. Visually, as it's forming, it would look like 3D printed scaffolds that grow out of the suit. You can see a bit of that in the original set with the arm blades.

The zero suit, not sure about the science on this, breaks down with the nanites. It's probably made of some material that the nanites can "feed" on or creates a stronger bond with the host.

The cape would double as spare nanites should any of the current armor get damaged.

The suit can form thicker armor, like the arm blades or helmet but more complex.

It's all subject to whatever the current commissioner wants though. I recommend playing canon loosely, or else you get into /coc/ problems like when people start arguing too much and no one's having fun anymore.

With someone with a more armored look the more she fights and loses nanites, she can have that more naked look as the fight drags on, since you know, less material to work with.
I can see them having a toll on the host the less nanites she has, with some weaker hosts like Steph causing actual pain since they are working overtime and burning through her body.

Going full-on dumb nerd here, but while the Batfamily orignally wore just tights, ever since the Burton movies its kind of been widely accepted that Batsuits get made out of some kind of polymer that most closely resembles rubber or leather, and with the whole gimp overtones of Cass Cain's full facemask she really lends her character to this kind of fantasy. The Superfamily on the other hand I don't think ever really widely moved that far away from their original costume concept, which was inspired by circus strongmen leotards. So I don't feel like they really lend themselves well to this idea.
It's just my opinion though, I'm grateful for the artists' work in any case.
