Anyway, if we're trying to keep the creative juices flowing around here, I have a couple ideas for my fellow writefags.

The first is a writing contest, like they do on /efg/ from time to time. We'd decide on a prompt and then spend a week or two writing short stories to share with the thread. I can't think of any good prompts right now, but maybe some anons could suggest some? They'd need to be vague enough to allow creative interpretations, but specific enough to provide inspiration for a story.

The other is a writing group, where we exchange critiques on whatever we're working on. I'd set it up like the Eka's Portal Writing Group, so we'd set a deadline for people to submit writing, then assign three stories to each person (or less depending on how many people submit) and give everybody a month to write their critiques.

I think either one would be fun. It's neat to see how different writers interpret the same concept, and getting guaranteed, detailed feedback on your writing is always nice, too. What do you guys think?

I think the writing group is a neat idea, but have doubts that I really have the qualification to critique a story in any meaningful way beyond proofreading for errors. Same with submitting any work with deadlines when I have such infrequent and slow writing.

It doesn't have to be a professional critique, just talk about the things you liked or thought worked and the things that didn't work. Catching grammar and spelling mistakes is useful, too. I usually try to catch all my own typos before I upload anything, but there's always one or two I miss because I've looked at them so much they just become invisible. Also, this community is pretty small, so we don't have to use hard deadlines for everything.

For one of the few times in the day, Queen Buzzectia had to use her hive-mind to command her worker bees. She was hungry and she needed fuel so that she could lay eggs and get more workers to build on the hive.

Her subjects flew out to capture food for their Queen... which included some unfortunate human campers outside the hive.

The Queen was unlikely to eat all of the campers, but that was small comfort if any. Once the queen had her meal, the other bee girls would get theirs...

the branch size fetish threads on /d/ have the problem of being to slow and often need rescuing from being deleted by the page limit. you mostly get a minimum bump with some images twice a day with nobody talking. Im always trying to save the growth thread from death. The futa gts thread died in like a few days I liked it but i didnt pay enough attention, mini gts thread is on life support, and so is the tiny woman thread, The vore thread does ok but even now its gotten pretty slugish. For me, this is actually a bit of a hard one to answer.

In general, I'd say she's "too big" when she cannot reasonably see any traces of humanity. When I say this, I'm thinking planet-sized women, like the one in your pic related. I really like giga stuff, even to the point where entire cities can be casually wiped out under a single finger ... but when she's so big that the entire planet can be wiped out similarly ... a little too big.

BUT, that's for growth. When it comes to shrinking, I have no problems with scenarios where a regular-sized woman is totally unaware of all-but-invisible tiny humans. So I guess it doesn't always bother me if the giantess cannot see the smaller folks? But I suppose I also tend to think more from the perspective of the tiny folks in the latter, while thinking of the giga-giantess scenarios more in a third-person type perspective.

Rambling mess with no clear logical conclusion aside, me no like giant lady in space.

Reading this made me realize I actually prefer scenarios where the giantess is actually normal sized but all the people she's interacting with are tiny. It somehow feels more immersive because you can use the shrunken people as a perspective to tell the narrative from as opposed to actual giantess stuff where it usually gets told from a third person perspective or the giantess's perspective. Then again I still do enjoy a good giantess story where they're romping through the city every now and then.

Exactly. The prompt should provide a scenario/conflict, but leave open the sub-fetishes, characters, whether it's primarily gentle or cruel, etc.

His animations are the best and no one comes close to rivaling the quality of his work. I'm not personally into heavily armored chicks but I don't really mind it so much since it's all so well animated that I can still fap to it. Although it is a very nice bonus when he does do something with a non-spartan girl. Also if on the off chance Analternateusername sees this. But that's the point. If they're already rendering an absurd amount of frames with very minor movements between them, they're already investing a load more render time than they probably should. It would seem to me that a more priority/resource driven approach would be to just double down and actually animate the scene(s), or to cut down the number of mostly-unnecessary frames so you can devote the saved render time to a second comic.

So we had a fun chat about Korra the other day, and it seems like it may have gotten some of the creatives juices flowing a little bit. I wonder if anyone has some suggestions for other /aco/-ripe shows/games/whatever which might lend itself well to size content?

Korra as a giantess would be cool. I imagine she would try her best to protect Republic City but ends up being too reckless and stepping on cars or buildings or using too powerful waterbending that creates a tsunami or using earthbending that causes a catastrophic earthquake.

I've noticed Cortana being discussed briefly and I wouldn't mind seeing something involving her. Considering how shes gone mad with power and believes everyone would live a better life under her rule, she could make for a gentle giantess towards those that obey her and yet also cruel giantess to those who disobey her at the same time. I could see a scenario where instead of one of those giant winged Guardians awakening on a planet, it ends up being a giant Cortana awakening and she ends up enforcing her rule over any human colonists that may have settled on the planet.

Also I'm not sure if anyone is into Borderlands but I thought Maya could make for an interesting giantess since her origins involved her being worshiped as a goddess on her home planet so I thought it would be neat to reimagine her backstory just as a giantess instead. Maybe the awakening of her siren powers is what causes her to grow? She can also be a bit power hungry due to her being eager to learn more and unlock the true potential of her siren powers so maybe that could also play a role into how she behaves and treats everyone who serves her.

Also how about Elizabeth Bioshock Infinite? Would she be any good for giantess stuff? The only scenario I could think with her is maybe it's before she meets Booker and she's still trapped in the tower. At the end of the day, the exact actions will depend on the relative sizes of the people involved. But I think there's no real question that we're not talking about "actual" sex, a guy wouldn't have to be shrunken too much before penis-in-vagina sex becomes unfeasible. I can see the logic behind keeping character descriptions vague. My counterarguement would be that people tend to read fiction for the purpose of escapism, and nowhere else is this more true than for fiction about a sexual fantasy that is physically impossible. Readers want to be taken into the world that the author is building, and to do that you need to provide specific and effective descriptions of anything that is important to your story, including your characters. Even if the description you choose to provide isn't precisely to their taste, they will still appreciate that it's there.

I know the feeling. My thoughts on it are that you want to use enough descriptors to create a general idea, and leave out those that aren't necessary for things to make sense. So unless a character's skin, eye, or hair color have some impact, little or big, you can get away without mentioning specifics. However if a character's breast size is important in some fashion, because you plan to have her do something only someone with big or small tits can do, you need to mention it. You don't want to leave it out and then say she started to give someone a tit job, and the reader thinking, "Oh, she has big tits? I imagined small..."

I kinda don't see the appeal in Haydee either too to be honest. Speaking as someone who is totally unfamiliar with that comic, why does she travel like that? Doesn't that draw a little too much attention? Isn't there a risk of damaging the vehicle, or accidentally stepping on someone? Also, even though I guess it's not too much of an issue with the costume design, surely all those people taking pictures are actually snapping up-skirts?

Oh sure, it's just that it doesn't seem like the most sensible way to get around. If she's fighting crime, surely the criminals are much more likely to see her coming if she's a billboard sized train surfer? Not to mention the increased potential for collateral damage, etc. I guess it makes sense for a young superhero to enjoy some of the attention, it just seemed a little odd that it's like the opposite of most superhero's attitudes, especially given that I'm totally unfamiliar with her.

To be fair, I didn't mean "pandering" in some overly negative way. There's no real way to deny that Marvel didn't go heavy down the "gotta promote women and minorities" path a few years ago with a number of their comics. They were even making explicit reference to things like Gamergate in the new Thor or some such.

But don't get me wrong, I don't have any huge issue with this, I'm not one of those people who is stamping their feet and getting angry. I like some of the new direction - including Kamala - just fine. I've never complained about Lady Thor, Spanish Spiderman, or Kamala. I just don't really care that much. But, I also think it's a little naive to look at the situation and not see the "new Marvel" stuff as a deliberate PR move designed to cash in on all the feminism/gender/minorities/etc drama from the past few years. And that's how business works sometimes, they ride trends. But, yeah, there's some pandering there. Whether it's a positive or negative thing ... I guess that's up to the individual.

Anyway, can we get back to talking about size stuffs?

God forbid comics reference something that happened in real life.

Just saying that people need to stop railing about things in comics that not a big deal and/or have always been in comics. Comics have always been political. Comics have always had references to real world news and events.

And comics can't continue if the only people who buy them or even talk about them are the angry neckbeard crowd, because that's an ever shrinking demographic. Ms. Marvel is popular, especially with girls and teenagers. A GROWING audience. Turns out people, especially younger people, will actually be drawn to characters like them. Even neckbeards and casuals will say they like Batman more than Superman because he's more 'relatable' even though he's as far from the average comic reader as you can get.

I think anon's point is comics will reference things in real life that have no relevance to the narrative being told in the comic. Sorta like how some shows will put pop culture references in place of an actual joke for a cheap laugh. Comics are just for entertainment and a lot of people see entertainment as escapism. There seem to be a few too many people involved in this discussion right now that it's difficult to keep straight what everyone's individual arguments are, but just for clarification, my mentioning the Gamergate reference wasn't to argue that comics shouldn't (or historically haven't) make reference to current pop-culture. That'd be silly, and I don't believe that to be the case.

My point was that that particular reference existed solely to provoke drama. It was strictly a PR move (or if I were to use bullshit /pol/ language, "virtue signaling"), not some attempt to be witty in-Universe with some relevant pop-culture quip ... and it absolutely worked. It worked so well that we're still discussing it today.

But as I also said, I don't hugely care that this is what they're doing. I'm not a huge comic fan, and I like what they're doing regardless. But deliberately-drama-provoking-reference-for-PR-purposes is still a deliberately drama provoking reference for PR purposes.
