Just recently went on a collecting hunt for this sort of thing.

Inb4 the game every Darksiders fan wanted is turned into the game no Darksiders fan wanted.

I was excited for the game. What's wrong with it?

I was too until the reveal trailer and shots like this started surfacing. It flies in the face of established lore detailing Fury's relationship and power status with her siblings for the sake of a cheap "anything you can do, I can do better," nonsense that obnoxiously pervades contemporary female protagonists.
I wanted a Darksiders game with Fury very badly, but I didn't want one where her character is assassinated, where she seems ready willing and able to ridicule one of her brothers for the sake of her own ambitious gain before the very council that engineered that fall. The Horsemen were supposed to be fiercely loyal to each other and to their oldest and most powerful brother, Death (which is now being challenged as well). Sadly, even the wiki has been scrubbed of her previous characterization in light of the uncaring and self-centered version highlighted by the third game's promo material.
This shot even shows her wielding War's sword, which wouldn't be out of place given the previous games had lent weapons, but given the reveal trailer it's safe to say she stole it from him which just reinforces the twisted version of her they've elected to go with.

Though on second thought given the timeline of the upcoming third game happening mostly co-currently with the previous two it would make sense Fury isn't thrilled to see War since he did try to kill her in a blind rage once and at this point in time everyone is still blind to the Council's machinations with him.
I still have my reservations given what the industry looks like right now. Maybe I'm being too hyper vigilant about it. Something still seems off with Fury's design though and I'm not sure what it is.

Meanwhile Strife is just giving out handguns to everyone like they're candy.
>>1506347
Genuinely curious about how they're going to handle Strife, especially in terms of gameplay.
Anyone else expecting Equilibrium-esque gun-fu?
>>1506351
No idea how they're going to handle Strife, or if they're even going to try. The gunplay in the Darksiders series is more or less a very basic version of Bayonetta/DMC/Vanquish type gameplay. The fact he's alone in not having a melee weapon as a signature tool is going to make it very tricky to implement in a way that makes players want to use his guns instead of cheaply relying on borrowed weapons from the other Horsemen.
Gun Kata combos would definitely be a way to do it though, along with giving him a combo system that can fundamentally modify the effects of his guns to keep things interesting.
>>1506374
I pictured the Gun Kata as unarmed strikes, pistol whips, and butt-strokes(if longarms are added) with an instant kill shot once a high enough combo is reached, or at least have that as a skill goody.
>>1506386
That sounds perfect. The Darksiders series is more than a little over the top in its style in a way that I could see elaborate sharp edges to these firearms as well. Definitely a bayonet or two.
At the very least I'm hoping for a good Fury vs Uriel catfight, though that might be a little too obvious and cliché for some.

its not the first time war would have done stupid shit, hell last time he did the other 3 ended up cutting his arm
death didn't really question the council at the beginning of 2 either but discover that they were corrupt as the game progressed, he just wanted to pay for his brother's "crime" by resurrecting humanity (didn't get the any of the DLC so maybe I'm missing something, because I heard an human appears in one of them)
she obviously believes in the council in 3 and will probably find they are full of shit as the game goes on, that doesn't mean she doesn't care about war, the horsemen in general just have more work thanks to his supposed crime
and that is even remotely as big as war sword, probably some lookalike sword ulthane forges at some point for the player (that everyone will end up using because whip gameplay in 3d games always sucked, and I doubt they can make it good for this game)
the "most powerfull horsemen" is just basic game promotion
1
>play as the strongest horsemen
2
>play as the strongest horsemen
3
>play as te strongest horsemen
and they will say the same shit with strife when his time comes, and in any case here it says that she wants to prove she is the strongest, not that she actually is
