In regards to this thread I propose this idea, though it may be a bit too complicated and ambitious for the scope of the project;

A few of the series have characters with different personalities as discussed in this thread to an extent. Different people obviously prefer different personalities and iterations of the characters. So that everyone may enjoy the game, perhaps we can have the actions/choices the player makes push some of the characters into their preferred versions of personalities.

For example; I prefer the less snarky version of Velma. However, I know a lot of people like the one from mystery inc. So by choosing to do particular path(s) in a certain way I could make her be less of snarky and more shy or vice versa because of how the events affect the character's mindset. I can encourage or discourage behavior subtly through dialogue cues or doing/not doing things for characters.

But as I've said before, probably too ambitious.

-do a point-and-click with multiple solution to puzzles, where the different choices lead to different reactions (yeahhh when you think scooby you think haunted mansion, and it's hard not to think about maniac mansion there...)

That could work, I mean a real problem with this is how vast the Scooby doo universe is in terms of both characters and locales. The back story on a dozen or more locations is enough for a game. Hell a Ghoul school dating sim would be more than enough to make a good game. Having an all out Shaggy verse game is rather ambitious.

Like some anons said, it's meant to be easy to get into, but you hit a brick wall very quickly when you want to do more than just text and images.

Don't think it has to be anything too complex. Someone suggested a flying minigame for the vampire girl, it could be something as simple as a 2D game where you control her in bat form and have to dodge stuff flying at her.

For the Werewolf girl maybe something like someone throwing steaks in the air and you have to maneuver in order to catch them before they hit the ground.

For the Frankenstein girl I was thinking a sort of Simon Says game based around helping her work with the typical machinery you'd see in a Frankenstein-style laboratory.

Those are all I got for the moment, but I'm sure a lot can be done in terms of minigames given the variety of chraracters we got to work with.

If you're going to go the route of like a dating simulator, and if you're looking to use the Mystery Incorporated Daphne and Velma, might I suggest you use the Miskatonic University as the background (where the gang went at the end of Mystery Incorporated).

The way I see it, if you're going to make it a dating game, then the story should be something like this:

Shaggy spent his entire first year swamped, either doing school work or helping the gang solve mysteries. He has little to no social life outside the Mystery Incorporated team, and he's exhausted. Shaggy goes to see their mentor, Mr. E (Harlan Ellison, a professor at the university) to seek advice. After some back and forth discussions, Mr. E offers Shaggy the chance to "re-do" his first year again, in another timeline.

Using a magic ritual that he learned in another timeline, he transfers Shaggy's mind into his counter-part in a timeline where Mystery Incorporated doesn't exit; he's not friends with Fred, Daphne and Velma (similar to how they were post-Niberu); and Scooby is a perverted genius. Now Shaggy has an entire year to mess around, have fun and hook up with as many women as possible.

Newer drawfag here, I was trying to do velma in this show's style and I'm having a lot of trouble with the colouring. How do I make those uniform shades of a single colour? Bucket tool doesn't seem to work well, and using the brush fucks up the wand tool. I'm just having a lot of trouble and I'd like some advice. Using Paint Tool SAI

OK, so.... I use the wand tool (make sure anti aliasing is on wand and bucket.). Select all of the outside of your line art. Invert selection, make a new layer underneath, then fill it in with bucket tool. Make a layer above that one and make it a "clipping layer". Use these clipped layers to just fill in the areas of colour you need. The last and most top clipped layer, shade in with a dusty teal/mint shade, then set it to multiply at ~65% opacity.

Clipping layers make it so you can just easily blob in colours, but not have to worry about being outside the lines.

I never use the lasso\wand tool for colouring itself, I outline where I want the colour by hand, and then fill it with the bucket tool. Makes it MUCH cleaner than using the tools.

It's not a bad idea, but I'd come up with some other motivation than "I want to turn into a werewolf" since there's literally a werewolf right down the hall who could fix that. Maybe Shaggy wants to make a gift for one of the girls, a specific kind of transformation potion they'd expressed interest in for example. You could have it where Shaggy makes a deal with Elsa to use the lab, and maybe also use her as a guinea pig to test the potions on until you get it right (use some dumb excuse like she can swap out body parts to go back to normal if the results are bad so she's the perfect test subject).

The problem I'm seeing, is what do we do about characters based on actual people though? In your picture, the woman in the green tank top at the bottom, she's AJ Lee, the former female wrestler from WWE (that's her in the WrestleMania Mystery).

Take Sunsetriders7, they got hit with a C&D letter early on while working on Something Unlimited, but from what I've been able to dig up on the topic, that was because they were using something like "Justice League Unlimited" as the name. The art style is almost the same as what is used on the original Justice League show.

Most companies will leave people making parodies of their IP's alone, as long as they aren't selling it. Patreon is sorta a grey area, as most Patreon's usually release a "beta" version to those who donate; and a "public" version for everyone to download later on (that usually has bug fixes and some extra scenes not in the "beta").

As long as we don't have "Scooby-Doo", "Mystery Inc.", "Mystery Incorporated" or "the Mystery Gang", we should be fine.
