This is one of the longest RPG Maker games I've encountered and it is a good mix of sex and RPG content. And though it is still being developed, you will have to put some serious time in just to reach the end of current content. As the description says, the sex scenes are made with 3dcg, meaning some pretty bad 3d girls, but they are fun and fetishy despite that.

As you travel, you gather the titular harem. There's a fair range of characters, all pretty interesting and most seem to come with a particular fetish. There's also something of a moral choice system in it's dark-light paths. You're honestly pretty evil on both paths but on the light path you're at least kind about it. Fetishes seem to get a bit rougher on the dark path too.

Combat is pretty easy objectively speaking but it felt more like I was powerful than the game was easy-mode.

Art is hand drawn and very good. RPG combat is fine – not to easy, not too grindy. A good game. More it is now complete, so there is no better time to give it a try.

While Bandits Assault is no master piece, I found it a competent and well put together H-Game. Another 3dcg art work game, meaning the same fairly bad 3d art, but 3dcg can grow on you after a while. Combat is really fun in this one – with just the right amount of difficulty without being annoying. There were also some fun and sexy side quests I had great fun with.

It is complete.

It comes with a wide range of girls you recruit over your travels, all individual and well developed.

Much like Harem, this game is both very long and still under development. If you do start playing, don't blame me if you look up from your computer a week later, wondering where the last seven days went.

The Last Sovereign also features so really good combat. The girls you recruit give you a good range of choices in fights. Some are also non-combat, meaning more choices there too.

Sex comes in three main ways.

1) It happens are certain points in the plot.

2) As you level up your relationship with the girls.

3) At demand, after reaching certain relationship point mile stones.

This is a team effort from the author of The Last Sovereign and the artist Nomo. It is apparently a parody of League of Legends, but since I've never played LoL any canon illusions were all Greek to me. Despite not knowing my LoL from my DotA, I really enjoyed it. It lacks the emotional depth of The Last Sovereign, but it still has an interesting story and some quality RPG elements. Combat and questing were calibrated well – neither too brief or too grindy. There was also plenty of opportunity to use sex to solve problems, which I always like. There are some rape on loss elements (something I normally dislike – I don't want to have to fail to get my reward, people!) but they were minor and there is plenty of reward sex too.

This game is complete, long but not epic and will happily fill a few afternoons.

I can't think of any with full animations, but I think Adventures of Tara (patreon/Reepyr) mixes a few animated scenes in with its static 3d CG. I haven't played it much, though, so can't really comment on the game itself. It's a sort of haughty girl (you) gets humiliated plot. Not much in the way of RPG either in early parts I played.

Game of Boners (patreon/boner) does something similar, if I remember correctly. It also has a neat feature where you can view scenes from different angles. Game of Boners is a pretty fun game but very short - only on version 0.02. It has some heavy incest themes and some really nice 3d art. Combat was kind of crappy, though. It uses RPG Maker MV but uses a custom tile set that makes it look like Ultima Online, so you won't find the exact same collection of sprites every other RPG Maker game uses either.

I definitely welcome this as a sort of "spin-off" thread to /weg/. I agree that they don't talk about these much.

Why has there never been a good RPG Maker game?

I understand that engines like RPG Maker primarily attract the laziest, most unskilled developers because of how you're trading in the ability to make your own game for rapidly crapping out a game using a standard template, but considering how many people are messing around with it, wouldn't the infinite monkeys rule imply that sooner or later someone would make something worthwhile with it?

I'm making a game. What are your thoughts on games and RPG maker games as a whole, what do you want to see more or less of? Be it mechanics, quests, game play, fetishes, genres etc. Anything that's on your mind regarding it

This is the problem OP, RPG Maker games have the marmite effect;

People either fucking love them, or fucking hate them.

Games are either overly long, drawn out slog fests through endless caves and grind bullshit before Maybe seeing a. Boob.

Or they are too quick, with overly easy encounters, that serve as a speed bump to the porn.

Take Overwhored as an example. It is very easy to be total party wiped if you don't defeat Every encounter, and mine every piece of experience. Which is a shame considering the wanks are good.

Overwhored is a mess and I don't understand the praise it gets. Last Sovereign is the only thing on that list that I've played and enjoyed but then it's the best RPG I've played singe VTMB.

There's two separate skill sets here. One for game design and one for writing. If you have both you're golden although it won't stop people from being triggered by RPGMaker.

For reasons that become obvious a little bit into the game, Ouroboros could have easily become an unfun grindy mess, by Sierra expertly adds grind short cuts over the course of the game, just when you feel you begin to want them. Whether healing automatically when entering town, rather than only by speaking to the keeper at the inn, or by giving you early access to a tool to bypass an obstacle, it really helps.

The characters are brilliant, vibrant and sexy. Amiel in particular is wonderful, but I won't say more on her development least I ruin it for you.

There are two versions of this game: a free version and a paid version. The paid version comes with art rather than text scenes, extra content and that warm feeling of knowing you've helped an artist. So go with that one if you can.

You play as a normal guy who, through an unlucky chance, ends up at a training camp for magical girls. From there the standard checklist of TS reasons-guy-must-dress-like-girl and reasons-guy-ends-up-transforming-slowly-into-girl come into play. If you've consumed any of this media before, you can probably guess most of it.

There are no levels in the game and enemies don't give xp. Instead, you gain power through better equipment and plot and relationship based power-ups. Maps are filled with wondering enemies, who you can dodge if you want and will loose nothing but money. Oh, and a bit of dialog for the first version of each enemy you encounter. Only the bosses are really plot critical.

Combat ranges from good to overly grindy – and honestly this aspect seems to be getting worse as the game continues to be developed. I found some of the later dungeons too long. It was annoying having to fight/dodge your way through maze after maze to get to the boss.

There's a somewhat annoying RoL inspired aspect, where your transformation is furthered the first time you loose to a boss. This is bad for the same reason I think all RoL is bad (if you're playing an H-game you want to earn some porn and forcing the player to loose to get it is just bad game design). However, apparently you can bypass this aspect. Bosses drop cores and a little into the game you gain the ability to draw power from the cores – which give you the transformation that boss would otherwise have given. Which is good I guess.

The characters are actually quite good and all unique. Whether it's the princess who can't quite grasp she comes from an evil empire, the demon who once ended a mission with -5 damned souls or the immortal magical girl who runs the school and your slowly unfolding connection with her, they really drive the plot in a powerful way.

There is the occasional peice of mediocre art work. You can also get into some dialog based H-content, most pretty mild save for the TS fetishism.

The game is still under development and it took me ~8 hours to get to end of current content.

Make one complete path with no significant branching first, then once you're done, you can go back and insert choices and branching wherever it seems most meaningful and content efficient, with only a bare minimum need for rewriting.

Good thread op, I'd recommend trying aylia story which only has the prologue out currently but seems quite promising.

So I've been playing a few RPG Maker games, trying to find a few that catches my interest. Since I haven't played them enough to do proper reviews, I'm just going to give first impressions.

Emmerzail - fun enough game. Has a lot (and I mean a lot) of original drawn art, but the art is pretty bad. Game design is bad in places (in the obligatory sewer level you could take maybe ten steps before an identical random encounter kicked in). Sex content can be a bit of a chore at times too. Oh, I need to watch the MC have sex with all these woman to advance the plot? Can I, like, not? Why is that bad? Well, the point of H-Games is to make you earn your porn. If you just want porn, 5 minutes on a porn site will get you more porn than even the longest RPG Maker game contains. By making you work for it and by embedding it in a story, gaming makes the porn more rewarding and meaningful. Still a good game. Will keep playing.

Maids - Perfect

Wow the map design is bad in this one. It is just giant empty spaces. Some of the sprite work is also very weird - like they tried to combine sprites from multiple RPG Maker generations and make them fit by some crude image manipulation.

Does some interesting stuff game play wise, though. It uses mini games a lot. There's a bit where you dodge logs in a river and another where you must keep away from an enemy chasing you.

I think I'll keep playing this one to see if the designer can overcome the flaws because there are some interesting ideas.

Camelot The Game

A young King Arthur with sexy female Merlin? Well it is an H-game. Some nice art in this one. Only thing I'd say is that the art is a little static. Some games do this really nice thing where they have a picture and then change elements of it, simulating change and motion. This game moves from erotic set piece to erotic set piece, with only the text linking them.

The Dark Lord's Trip - nice art, really good use of the RPG Maker engine (game play, level design etc), this is a promising game. Too short to really give a impression at this point. Seems to be about a human Disney hades fucking fairytale girls.

The day one of these reaches the level of A Dance with Rogues, is the day i'll be happy. To this day it's still (imo ofc) the best western porn rpg.
