I love this webcomic because I see a lot of myself in Alfie, and it hurts me to see everyone arguing over what's happening. She's a young naive girl exploring her sexuality for the first time, and she's going to be nervous about some of the situations she finds herself in. That doesn't mean she's not willing, she's just a little insecure and traveling into new territory. And Marco sees this and is trying to protect her from getting into situation which are potentially hazardous, he's not being possessive. As soon as he knows she's okay with what's happening he backs off and lets them have their fun. And Lydia isn't making Marco a cuck because she's a woman. The connection she can have with Alfie is different from the connection Marco has with Alfie, and she's just trying to pick on Marco in a friendly way because they like friendly competition.

I've been in Alfie's position and I love seeing Alfie deal with it because it's like a metaphor for my own experiences when I was very young and exploring my own sexuality and finding out what it meant to be a girl in a sexual world.

I really doubt Alfie is going to discover she's a lesbian. Obviously she knows she likes other girls, and it's something she wants to explore more. But she really likes Marco, she's just not willing to admit it yet because getting serious with him might hinder her sexual exploration. When she gets upset with him about being too attached she's projecting. Marco isn't really possessive of her, he's actually very open and easy-going. He's just trying to protect her in an environment which he knows she's inexperienced with, because he knows she's more vulnerable than she admits.
