Has anyone here animated DAZ models inside 3d animations softwares (c4d, 3ds, maya etc)? Even the DAZ general thread ppl dont have an answer. The animate2 requires a serial key which even after searching i did not get. And the animation i tried once i daz is really shit. hence asking.

I mean DAZ without animation is so damn boring :(

Daz animation is pretty shitty, yeah. Exporting to another app would probably have faster renders. But, the wonderful morphs for limb bending don't transfer as far as I know.

dude you have no idea. I tried 3ds, maya, C4D. In all these cases, i exported the DAZ model first. Imported them into each of the the animation softwares. But every issue occurred in rigging. I tried searching high and low with no answers.

I also tried blender, I imported the fbx model into it and then rigged the model, but when i skinned and generated the bones using riggify button, the animation controls showed up in the wrong co-ordinates. ugh frustrating as fuck.

I did not look at the video you gave, but i will have a look.
Can you tell me your workflow in blender? Did you import the daz model and animate it? If yes, can you please describe?

Whenever i import my DAZ FBX model into blender, it looks like as shown in the picture. only way i know how to fix it was to delete all the bones and start rigging from scratch. Is there an easier way? Is there a way to preserve the bones?

I still use V4 and M3 genitals for almost everything, male and female. The only exception is the fat orc, which is M4 with M4 genitals. The horse dick is HossCox I think, with modified textures and displacement. Textures are modified V4Elite and home made stuff with pretty basic shaders and maps.

You can draw veins with a little patience. I drew the vein color layer first, then set aside a duplicate of the layer in black and white for displacement, set the color layer to multiply, broke the veins up a little with various eraser brushes and finally used the opacity slider to find the visibility I wanted. I have three or four different vein maps which I combine at different levels. Play around a bit with displacement and overlaying layers until you find something you like.

Just a guess but maybe try adjust you length of thigh?upper leg whatever, if you havent tried that already.

Basically looks like the bottom of the butt stops before the top of the back of the leg/thigh starts.

I would start there and play with different slider that have control over those regions.

Also maybe there is another slider to make the butt go down further to meet top of thigh?

First of all my sincere thanks for your response.

I am not using any morph and in daz, and you can remove the limits of sliders.

If you click the gears on the right top corner of any slider and uncheck use limits, you can increase any body part to any size.

By the looks of it you have not tried that. Try removing limits and increase the size of the glute and thigh sliders and you will encounter this issue.

Increasing the thigh length does decrease the crease visibility, but its does not get rid of it. Besides, the whole body looks wierd with long thighs.

Posing and animating are very similar between Poser and Daz, and content libraries work the same way. So does "creation," which is basically dress up legos and playing with slider parameters. Some Daz models are compatible with Poser (and vice versa), but the files need to be structured correctly in order for Poser or Daz to find them. Usually if a product is compatible with both programs, it will have a Poser and a Daz installer included. Some products are program-specific, especially extensions and scripts. Daz has turned all Apple lately by releasing a lot of Daz-specific content. For instance, there's a confessional booth model I really want to use but it's not available for Poser, so I had to construct my own using primitives and furniture. It looks pretty shit, pic related.

Poser uses its own render engine, Firefly. Firefly takes from 30 minutes to 3 hours per frame depending on complexity. Usually I can crank out a 30 frame (1 second) loop overnight with two figures and some accessories.

I will often use Daz3d for a month or two at a time, making tons of renders. Then I'll take a break for several months, think to myself 'I should just uninstall it', but then get sucked back in for several weeks again. Does this happen to anyone else?

Have you tried increasing the butt size and thigh size and then tried appying the smoothing modifier ? My issue is that when butt size and thigh sizes are increased, the back of the thigh underneath the buttocks area becomes very deformed.

Your process of applying the smoothing modifier will apply to the mesh as whole or will it also fix this issue?

My utter surprise is, no one else has yet come up with this issue yet. Only i am facing this.

Btw, your models look gr8. Can you post or share some screenshots of your other models as well?

Is there anyway to apply the mesh smoothing process to only certain parts of the body rather than the entire body?

Right now it applies to entire body and for muscular women, it ruins their muscle definitions if the iterations are increased. :(

How easy is it in poser to rig and animate a model? Does it help in anyway if the character is imported from daz? No tuts in youtube for this.

I've never had to rig anything, every product I use already has a rigged skeleton. Some are difficult to work with because I don't rig or weight map myself, making things like V4's shoulders, V4's butt and some of the monsters with longer limbs frustrating.

Animating in Poser is done with flexible keyframes, at least that's how I do it. You can save and apply animated chunks of keyframes like you can in Daz, but I find it easier to do everything by hand, otherwise I end up with loads and loads of unwanted keyframes at the beginning and end of each "chunk." What you cannot do in Poser but can in Daz is record keyframe animation via mouse input in "real time." As far as I know, in Poser you must adjust individual keyframe parameters manually.

Sometimes this makes for a jumbled mess of keyframes (as each parameter of each bone of each figure of each scene has its own keyframe). Poser has a layering system to help with this, but I never use it. I'm sure there's a better way but I just do everything in one layer, piece by piece, like this.

Since we have a DAZ thread, does anyone have that beginners guide on how to use it to make and pose a nude model? I think it was in essence a dude taking some Evangeline Lilly model, swapping the hair out, etc. and then getting it nude and showing how to pose it.

You have to rotate the bones individually. It shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes to do if you're smart about it. Certain bones like the legs are on the same axis so you can rotate them together. Then the arms and hands are on the same axis too. Afterwards you just need to connect the bones with shift p

Don't pose the head and neck separately, select the body and use the combined Head-Neck dials. You'll avoid most of the broken neck problems.

Like everyone else here, learn 3 point lighting and stop using ambient lighting as a crutch (DAZ users in particular fall for this).

If you own a tablet, use it when using the Morph tool. It's a lot more precise and pressure sensitive.

Lali's Bits is worth the money. Spend it, don't pirate it. You have no business not having a Renderotica account.

Learn SuperFly, or buy Reality. Your choice. Reality is ez modo in terms of converting existing shaders and materials while SF has more power in terms of possibilities. I use both.

That looks like they were shooting for the WoW style. I'd make that kind of stuff myself, honestly, but I don't know how much work the sculpting and texturing will be. I mean, I sculpt and texture paint with zbrush, but I don't know how perfectly they need to match WoW's in-game assets.

So I understand the process for DAZ studio, but if you put a massive change on a model through morphs, like widening the shoulders or hips or anything else that would require adjusting the skeleton, how would you accomplish that in Poser? DAZ studio does it automatically, so doing like a werewolf transformation doesn't require a bunch of fiddling with the rigging tools. Is there something similar in poser?

I've always liked poser more than DAZ studio personally, because I learned it first and it comes packaged with a dope sheet, curves editor, etc. Not trashing DAZ studio; it's great, and I use it now because of the question I asked being so easy in it.
