For Four Elements Trainer I've had no problems with old saves all the way through this edition. Haven't even moved them. I just open the new one and load a save. It pulls it from the old game files. Then when I save, it puts it in the new game files and I delete the old.

All I've been doing in GIMP (free to use) is:

1 .the original art (use color picker to get skin tones to cover the light shine if you don't want that)

2. Desaturate

Well as I sat down and thought about it I decided that I want a sorts level up system.
Each cycle of the day would be split into morning, midday and night. Nights would be used to fight random crime and thereby gain xp which you then used to become the superior spider-man. Get abilities like .. +10% damage, deal poison damage via stingers etc. This would make fighting easier for both random thugs and boss battles.

But I don't know if people would want to play a grind-y game

Honestly it depends on how the grind is done. The Twist is a good example of how not to do a grind that game is tedious and way to much work for what it puts out. But if the various other games in here are any indication people dont mind a grind if its not overdone.

Also if your really worried about grind put it in but put in a cheat way to bypass some of it. That way people who dont mind can level and grind and those that want to get to whatever faster can.

You could have it so he ends up in Aunt Mays house after being disgraced/betrayed and you start out by working your way back into Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane and Black Cats good graces. As the game progresses you work you way back up the chain of heroes until you can prove your innocence or do a hostile type takeover ect. Then part 2 which is getting more heroes and bigger name villains. Female symbiote would be a part 2 type of villain.

/weg/ is a hot, steaming pile of garbage that I visited for a few months and I still haven't gotten the stink off me. /stg/ is a hotbed of creativity with a clear abhorrence of tripfaggotry, and despite its many failed creations, it still tries, which clearly makes it the better general. start you game

start each "day" with if tod ==0:

then after you've filled your days with what ever tasks you have the last thing do

Thanks for the reply m8, I had the time of day thing already in place, I was after the button just because I liked the effect, but renpy documentation is the most opaque way of communicating. I don't know if it's a programmer thing but I struggle to make use of it at all. Unless I find a tutorial that explicitly details how to do the one thing I'm after, I'm usually fucked.
I was going to go with a three event per day type thing like Summertime Saga, but eventually, there'll be so much to do in the game you'd be really feeling the grind if you were limited to 3 a day. That's why I wanted a PT like 'end day' button, but all the GUI stuff in renpy is killing me.
I don't want to go patreon, but I might have to just to pay someone to work out the GUI for me so I can get back to art and story/coding.

Any good dev should have a clear idea of where they want to take the game, but still have an ear towards suggestions.
