Learning faces is pretty fun and can be so different from style to style.

I learned spots that protrude like jowls and cheekbones first or brows.

Then made a geometry map (when the face is general shapes and looks like shards)

Finally to make sure I am consistent (with a new individual face) I draw a profile and semi-front view ontop of eachother to make sure when I draw from another angle things line up.

Seems smart to always think like a animator. Making sure you know every angle for every non existent frame.
