On one hand, the video could just be a parody. Although there's nothing in the title or description that suggests as much. There is some weird animation snaps when she talks which could be due to the video editing if this is the case.

On the other hand, this is bio-motherfucking-ware we're talking about here. The snapping animations and atrocious dialog could very well just be part of the game.

Where did it all go so wrong that people have trouble distinguishing the game from literal parody?

Quaritch ultimately had to choose between being nice to a bunch of haughty, xenophobic dickheads who regularly shot at his men, even unarmed workers, and doing what needed to be done to save Human lives back home. The Humans never attacked first, it was always in response to native aggression. If Cameron wasn't a bleeding-heart hippy, the Humans would have been the heroes.

I imagine it like being in the belly of some beast, or maybe the womb would be a more apt description all things considered. Claustrophobic, trapped in cold slime against walls that almost seems to distantly beat and pulse with malicious intent. Breathing in rapid lungfuls of noxious air. An alien smell, almost like offal or viscera, like you really have become swallowed up by a beast.
Feeling alone and trapped, but also constantly watched, like any of the xenomorphs could come out at any time and you would be completely helpless to do anything.

Quaritch CHOSE to be a genocidal fuck for money. or maybe he didn't chose? maybe he was always a heartless murder machine. a better man would have forced the issue with the corporation. without the hired guns, there is no mining. even with a happy, peaceful Na-vi, there is still a vicious, hungry jungle waiting to snack on some blithe humans. He could have told the moneyman that the loss of life and equipment, on both sides, as well as the inevitable fallout with surrounding Na-vi tribes, was not worth the risk.

but, like generations of imperialist colonizers, cutting down native people and stepping over the corpses to get their gold is always perfectly acceptable to him. I can see a lot of different explanations for many of characters in this movie, and there are many, but Quaritch is pretty hard to redeem.

I've always assumed that eywa, being the moon itself, makes life pretty good for the na'vi in exchange for technological and cultural stagnation. Although I think they will reveal that the na'vi are mutated humans or something, considering they look nothing like the rest of the wildlife.

I think that alone provides a decent case against any theories suggesting Na'vi having anything to do with humans. Any genetic similarities would've been a major news that would've played a fairly important part in the movie. Yet there was not a single mention apart from the uncanny resemblance to humans.

Human biotechnology in that film is advanced enough to allow the production of more or less stables hybrid between creatures with nothing in common, except maybe the way their DNA is formed. They sure as hell can trace back any common ancestor they might have, which may be at best a single-celled organism from more than 4 billion years ago that was thrown into space inside a rock via a some powerful impact.
