RPG Maker has been around for a loooong time. There are plenty of plug-ins and addons that make it pretty innovative and fun, but it requires the developer to make the actual effort to go after those things and adapt them to their game.

It depends for what to be honest.
Nergal has been good on updates and pretty open about the process.
Even taking a month off he's given us a month notice and doesn't intend to stop collecting the art so the updates after he gets back may be quite fast.

That said we also have the devs behind shit like My Strange Sis who have been pretty good insofar. Their game recently went to the 0.3.3 or something, but it doesn't have a whole lot of content.

Truth be told I'd likely say Nergal myself, even if only because AZL feels like a game even after you take away all the /ss/ and incest.

I have ver 2.0+ and while it is not laggy it has memory leak, it allocates for itself minimum 0,1GB of virtual memory per area and never dumps that allocations so after a few map transitions I get CTD due to lack of memory, while having over 2GB RAM free

Interesting is that if the game is run in firefox then it handles memory correctly but lags and uses processor at 100%, I could stress test with it.


Unless there is a point where it stops consuming more and more virtual memory, than I could expand it, disk space is something that I have plenty.

There are plenty of issues with roundscape still, and I wouldn't say the story/game is innovative enough to elicit tons of excitement. It just happens to be one of the most content filled wegs we have. The art consistency is problematic too for many.

Now that I think about it though, it and Noxian Nights would be good foundation games to identify what aspects of RPG Maker games should be removed/changed to improve on the formula overall.

As someone who played with rpg maker I say it is pretty easy to do.
Each weapon increases amount of strikes per basic attack(easily added property of weapon), it is cumulative and one of them have property "shoot fire arrows when using normal attack" so all normal attack are fire arrows.
