So has anyone tried that Something Unlimited game by Sunset Riders? Specifically I was wondering if any of the dialogue/narration was good from a mind control fetishist's standpoint. I'm personally kind of torn on it. On the one had a big part of the concept, use suggestions that you have to exploit your subjects' personalities for in order to corrupt them into your harem, is totally my jam. On the other hand I really don't like incest.
The big elephant in the room though is the funding and timeframe. People on 4chan seem to be of the consensus that there is no reason why a straightforward VN is taking so long to make, with Patreon money changing hands with every passing month.
The disagreement is to whether this is intentionally a scam, or if the creator is just not very good at this. Personally I think it's more like the latter, that this current model of creation and funding is the best that the creator could come up with, and it turned out to be a bad model.

On the one hand he did release a full finished game in the past, so there's reason to believe it will eventually finish.

On the flip side it is taking a while. Now granted he isn't the artist and sleepymaid has never been the fastest artist. He is also spending some time in a game design school so realistically he'd at least want a cashcow game (and it is considering the over $1000 per month increase since he started work on it) to be the main attraction until he's got enough to pay for it till the end.

Still either way there's slow progress but what you have to remember is that despite stories of how long it took to make things like Tsukihime by what were essentially newbies they did have the Japanese work ethic and were professional to an extent.

Plus at least he doesn't bitch out when we post the game for free here.

It's no longer Sleepymaid though, aside from a few extras. The issue is that he's commissioning a team of different artists to take all the pictures from sketch, to inking, to coloring. And someonoe needs to be available to work and not have greater priorities when it comes to their part of the chain.

I had a subscription to that site years ago, and that's what really struck me.
A lot of the comics centered around turning the girls into mostly-unresponsive robots. And later on there were a bunch about making the subjects into mannequins or putting them into stasis somehow.

The big accusation about fetishes like this is that it involves taking the partner out of it and avoiding intimacy, and I normally don't feel like that's very accurate, but with the stuff in Metrobay that most definitely feels like the case.
The bit about it always being reversed or at least released at the end was a flaw with their whole format. They wanted to keep some sort of persistent universe with these simple characters/setups. So even though the fetish demands that the bad guys get their way a lot, they can't ever be allowed to really "win" permanently, otherwise there's no room for more stories, kind of like how no one in Gotham can ever kill the Joker.
