Mostly softer lines, and less detail in the coloring. I guess that sketch turned out too clean to quite count.

And I've decided to add some very basic cell shading to 'flat colors' since it is another flat block of color that takes me less than 5 minutes to add on with most pieces. But the difference between that and the next tier is still pretty distinct.

Supes and Dracounreformed were the quickest turnarounds for me. Both were done in under a couple hours. Probably took them even less time than that, but I had stiff going on that limited how fast I could receive my work. A lot of artists are fast, and I'm probably just forgetting some.

I should probably, at some point, just write out a review for everyone I've commissioned. Or at least a list of everyone I've commissioned, and offer reviews on request.

One of the things I love about the artist is the constant feedback during the whole sketching process. I'm used to artists' not replying for weeks on end and sometimes I wouldn't be able to check e-mail due to my job for a few days and check back to see 2 or 3 messages from MM asking me questions or proposing sketches. It's one thing when an artist's work get criticized, whether constructive or shitposting, but its another when they're asking for more then they're supposively worth, or vice versa (which has happened in the past few threads).

So...

How do you tell an artist they're deluded (or they delivered badly on a commission) in a nice way?

Or artists? How do you want people to handle the above question if it doesn't seem like you're seeing the problem, at least intially?

I have been commissioning too long to not see red flags, so this isn't for me.

Just seeing some artists severely over or under pricing themselves and anons reacting. Under pricing its easy to tell an artist that for obvious reasons (although some anons will dick suck no matter what), but some artists here are over pricing themselves and haven't got the memo that's been passed around several times.

Now some anons are being straight up hostile/blatant about it. Guess what I'm really wondering is how an artist does not see the problem they're having, at least on a site like 4chan where hugging echo chambers usually don't exist.

If they are overpriced, I wouldn't bother. Eventually they will notice that no one is commissioning them and ask why. Or figure it out on their own.

If they deliver badly on a commission, for the love of christ tell them why you are unhappy. As an artist, I give commissioners plenty of opportunity to tell me what they would like changed about their commission. I don't even take payment until they are happy with the sketch. So if you just say "yeah everything is great" even though you are unhappy with how it is turning out, it is your own fucking fault if you don't like the end product. Feedback is crucial.

Not open for commissions right now, but following the thread and wanted to give my two cents.
I sometimes get told I charge too much, but honestly, and I mean this in the nicest way possible; it keeps the riff raff out. I find that a lot more commissioners that mess you around are at the lower price points, and I'd rather do less pieces but for nicer people that pay more, than more work for less money, for douchebags.
That said, I do get a steady stream of work at that higher price point, so take it with a pinch of salt.

Question for anyone whose ever drawn someone's original character donut steel.

What kind of information helps make this shit easier. I got an idea for a project Id like to get some art for but never did the OC thing.

I wouldn't even take your commission if it's for a character that doesn't have any preexisting material. I usually offer clients in your position a discounted rate bundle for my services conceptualizing the character and then doing an image of them.

Whatever other artists may feel is up to them but in any case be as absolutely thorough as possible when you describe what you want the character to look like. More desperate artists will probably let you ask for multiple redraws to figure out what works best for the character you're trying to come up with but any artist that gets stable work is going to charge you for wasting their time.

Really hard to come up with something for certain plant harvesting. What's cutting edge at the moment are those machines you see behind the workers, but the harvesting still has to be done by hand in an intriciate way as to not ruin the ground or future harvests.

It's part of the reason why ranching is preferred by some people. Its MUCH less labor intensive, can grow hay that its MUCH easier to harvest, and both the animals and hay can be grown in shitty land where veggies and fruits require unique areas.

Reason why the midwest is nothing but corn, shitty land for anything else and its very easy to harvest.

Hello all,

I'm working on an adult game with a few other people hoping for multiple different ventures of release.

We are now in need of a Chibi and CG artist, as well as an animator. One person can easily fill all 3 roles with some ease, should they be skilled enough. We are happy to discuss rev-share or commission based agreements based within this opportunity.

Animations need only be simple 5 frame animations used within the combat element of the game. An example is included in this post.

$25 for a sketch like that still works out to working below the US minimum wage once you factor in dealing with your client.
