That's not really unique to ABDL though. I'd recommend browsing the h-game generals on /vg/. One recurring problem with h-games, in general, is that it's just too fun to lose, and that losing can even be thought of as the end goal because that's how you unlock all the erotic scenes. More complicated ways of unlocking content like "battle intimacy" end up taking more work for the creator. It's just harder to make porn that people will play like any other game and still enjoy as porn. I think this problem could be solved if people took a top-down approach towards game design and kept it in mind.

With ABDL games in particular it's a kind of slow burn, usually, so just allowing the player to repeat boss fights might be kind of useless. The player is (at least from my experience) more interested in the gradual slip and slide into embarrassing unpottytraining rather than any particular scene, although the scenes are still good too. So it may be useful to have a kind of "memory lane" mode where you can revisit fights and experience the loss as well after having beaten it in the normal story, but it may also be missing some of the key bits that people visit the game for.

I think the key idea is that a lot of players like to feel that they're struggling to resist and failing anyway, but you want to preserve that feeling in a game where winning battles is also possible. It rapidly becomes a long series of switching paths and branching decision trees, which (I think) might explain why there aren't too many ABDL games that exist with great depth.

Rambling aside though, how do we solve this? If you gate the goodies behind a "losing" scenario but gate progression behind "winning", you create a gameplay paradox. So what you want is to make "losing" less of a gameplay condition but retain the fluff and flavor of losing so that cute subs can get off to it. It could possibly be handled by having fewer battles with more climactic results, or by having battles against lesser enemies have lesser effects.

That's thinking more in terms of feature creep. There are not any deep ABDL games? I say there aren't any complete ones. Fox and Baboon bit off more than they can chew, no one has tried there hands at something they can reasonably complete. There's a saying that it takes 100 hours of work to make a 1 hour game in RPGMaker, having fucked around with it I believe that. But no one wants to make just a 1 hour experience or proof of concept.

I think something like pic related (1 of 2) is pretty solid. If you lose you just get set back, a small reward. But winning, or progressing, sets your character back even more. Also the game proposed isn't complex by any means, it has 4 levels, 1 character, and 1 ending. No combat either, just a little stealth mini game. But it could be expanded upon, if desired, it's just the format that needs to be retained. If we want to figure out how to make longer, deeper, more complex games that are any good, we have to start simply.

I think the way I'm envisioning it now is something like:

>"Dungeon" areas with lesser enemies and one or two bosses

Yeah feature creep is an issue. That's the thing with ABDL RPG games, I think. In order to really capture the ESSENCE of the fetish, you need a decent level of simulation going on. Time tracking, events, clothing, NPC reactions, player reactions, etc. The words "potty script". Only once you've got all these things laid down can you even begin to really build your world, and at that point it's a big clusterfuck of interwoven plotlines and tracked events etc.

It's true that making this happen in a smaller scale scenario is more realistic and there's definitely nothing wrong with that. I've had a similar idea in mind for a while, inspired by a bunch of omorashi minigames I played a while ago. I think it was called Princess Prison? In any case the idea was that the girl needed to escape her room and find a toilet before she peed herself. The idea is pretty easily translated to ABDL and it'd be fun to try, I think.
