Dragon Ball's tournament arcs have always been kinda shit haven't they? The only real exception I can think of is the first one.

Tien had great fights in the second, and he actually wins because of bullshit in the sky. Goku vs Krillin rival showdown. Roshi pulling has his tricks to try and win a second time.
My favorite tournament is the piccolo vs Goku one. Goku getting aged up is really fun to see. The romance battle with Chichi. Kami pretending to be some dude wipes the floor with people.

Tournaments were not the absolute favorite, but one of my favorite parts of dragonball.

Dragonball's tournaments had good main cast vs main cast matches and also main cast vs arc antagonist's matches, but the tournament randoms always sucked, like Panputto (who was completely pointless after Goku had already beaten King Chappa in the same tournament) or the man wolf.
