Her tits were that big in the beginning. They're bulging out of control when the first vampire priest grabs her.

That being said, I'm sort of bummed that we didn't get to see more of Seras post-Pip.

did she became the new alucard? (as she absorbs more souls )
because alucard became an omnipresent beign
>>
>>162256016
That's her master's master. Her master is Alucard.
>>
>>162256196
Basically. Her and Alucard specifically were of the true Vampire bloodline (i.e. He appropriately turned her whilst she was a virgin of the opposite sex, drank of her own free will, not artificially made).

It can be assumed that at the point of Alucard's return, Seras is at least at the level he was when we were first introduced to him, and he is now God-tier.
>>
>>162256542
There is no way she ate as many people over the course of a couple of decades that he ate over centuries, including two world wars.
>>
>>162256581
I'm talking combat/ability-wise, specifically.
>>
>>162256542
I take it as she can potentially reach Alucard's level with enough time, I doubt that in 30 years in modern times she ate the same amount that Alucard did in 500 years and a shit ton of wars
>>
>>162256697
Then again, it seemed to me that a lot of a vampire's power comes from their bloodline, how close to their founder they are, and the quality and quantity of the souls they hold. As the Junior Warrent Officer said, having blood offered is an entirely different situation as compared to taking it.

I mean, she went from the level of a Millenium goon to being able to throw down with someone who gave Alucard pause back in WWII after a single soul.

>>
>>162258832
Whimsy (what he tells Walter), a desire for something new (comes with being immortal), lust (standard "vampire seeks beautiful woman" deal), or some blend of all three, if you ask me.

What do you mean but why, it's what half the damn anime is about. There is half an episode of the major ranting about how he lov a destruction and likening it to a symphony.

The entire purpose of this massive Pegu of bloodlust is to get Alucard to release his gigantic dick of souls so that they have a chance of killing the real one.

It's been a while since I read, but as I recall, a human willingly giving you blood gives you massive vampire gains, so drinking Pip gave her a huge boost. Alucard got his power from sheer numbers, and I think implied offscreen experimentation.

He showed Alucard what a human could do if pushed far enough.
He showed the world what a war with no hold barred trully was.Think about the destruction if they had used modern weaponry and not WW2 equipments.
He showed science what the fucking occult could do. Zorin, Rip's musket and the Captain can difficutly be explained as science going too far.

I can't say I enjoyed it as much as I thought. The voice cast is top notch, though.

How did you think the original Van Hellsing captured Alucard in the first place? He was such a badass he was able to kick Alucard's ass as a human. That's why Alucard was pissed off at Anderson for having to become a monster to fight.

Not to mention that every other Van Hellsing kicked vamp ass without Alucard, and only Integra woke him from his slumber. Other vampire hunters the world over, such as those from the Catholic Church, were human as well. Really, the Hellsing organization was unique in its use of vampires to hunt other vampires.

>>
>>162262288
Point. Then they sealed him back up again afterwards. Point being, the Hellsing Organization had him around as a trump card, something to fall back on if they absolutely needed to, but had "normal" humans that did most of the work otherwise.
>>
>>162260346

Arc technically isn't a vampire. She just has vampiric impulses because the being she was designed after was vampiric. She has none of the weaknesses vampires do.

She's closer to an elemental than anything else.
>>
>>162262336
Alucard wasn't as powerful back then, but it was impressive regardless.
>>
>>162262201

I mean, the only thing that changed between then and the events of Hellsing was that he became mostly immune to headshots. Van Helsing left him with the single most simple and obvious way to kill a vampire: Tear his heart out.
>>
>>162262336
That scene where Alucard recalls the first Hellsing staking him and giving him a good talking-to was real neato.

I would have loved to see more of the events that took place during that era, before he became OP.
>>
>>162263026
>I mean, the only thing that changed between then and the events of Hellsing was that he became mostly immune to headshots.
Didn't they go crazy experimenting on him to make him immune to basically every vampire weakness?
>>
>>162263026
It's implied that the Helsing Organization did magical/scientific experiments on him to make him even more powerful.
>>
>>162263029
I just more of Van Helsing. His VA was a Holocaust survivor who saved around 150 children during WWII. Shame he died back in May.

>>162263058
>>162263071
It's not like Dracula in the book was weak to much either. The only changes would have been surviving decapitation, not needing to sleep on Wallachian soil and not being disgusted by garlic. He still can't swim, even.
>>
>>162263146
>It's not like Dracula in the book was weak to much either.
Dracula's powers were wierd in the book. Like you can hurt him during the day but at night a sailor tries to stab him and the knife just goes through like he's made of mist.

Also he cast no reflection because back then mirrors were lined with silver in the back, modern mirrors don't so he would have a reflection in them.
>>
>>162263146
I didn't say anything about getting rid of weaknesses anon, just that they did some sort of experiments on him. It was the other anon who brought up weaknesses specifically.
>>
>>162263256
>and the knife just goes through like he's made of mist
Because one of his powers was that he could turn to mist. Don't you remember the book? During the day, he can't switch forms.
>>
>>162263328

I know but it's never 100% addressed WHY he can't do it during the day. At least I can't remember it.
>>
>>162263328
I think Hellsing would have been much less interesting if Hirano wasn't such a westaboo. I mean, he put fucking Theban on Alucard's gloves. He hid a shitload of English Dracula related words (that changed every panel) in Zorin's mindfuckery spell.
>>
>>162263361
Because that's how his powers work. He can change into bats or wolves or mist or back to human form at night, but during the day, he can't. That's just how it is. I think they're based very loosely on old East Balkan folklore, and in folklore, things just are how they are.
>>
>>162263328
>>162263444
Probably because in slavic culture the day is god's realm and evil has no power then.

More importantly, now I will never unsee that badge's positioning. It would have looked fine a little higher up the chest, why would they do this?
>>
>>162263496
I mean, it's a theme as old as time. Night's beasts and monster's have no sway in the light of the day. Just think of it from a human nature perspective. Is there much going on scary during the day? Or do you huddle close to the fire at night, fearful of what may be out there, but finding comfort close to that blessed fire. Light, warmth, protection. In the dark of the night, there are none of them. As a result, people's imaginations start to get the best of them, imagining monsters behind every corner.

It doesn't help that not even 300 years ago, monsters DID lurk in the woods. Wolves, for example, were fucking terrifying. In 1450, a pack of wolves entered Paris through a breach in the walls and killed 40 people before being literally brought to battle on the steps of the Notre Dame cathedral, where they were slain. Wolves killed untold numbers of people back in the day.
>>
>>162263831
>Is there much going on scary during the day?
War?
>>
>>162263831
>Night's beasts and monster's have no sway in the light of the day.
Ironically, many of the desert monsters were active during the day, to the point of the Abrahamic God originally being associated with night and shadow, albeit as a light in that darkness.

Remember, before there was light, there was darkness, and in that darkness was God.
>>
>>162263949
I mean, war's pretty terrifying, but it's a known terror. You can generally see what's going to kill you. At night, you can't see what may or may not be coming to get you. Each sound or shadow might be a monster coming to kill you. You can't see it, and so your mind fills in the blanks. That's what true horror is. Your mind fills in what is most scary to YOU.

In that sense, I have to agree with HP Lovecraft, "The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown"
>>
>>162263950
There's also different contexts with said cultures because there tends not to be any significantly sized beasties out to get you at any time, and the height of day is so incredibly hot and oppressive, contrasting with the cool relief of night.

Let me amend this to say warfare of that era. Arguably, the stress of not knowing what or when something might get you is a big factor in the perceived increase of PTSD in warfare of the modern age. I've also heard some suggest that damage to the brain caused by repeated concussion of various explosions could be a factor. We honestly can't tell for certain.
>>
>>162264219
No it's more that battles just last too long now. The Battle of Waterloo was considered horrific partly because of its length, and it was only 3 days long.
>>
>>162264291
That, and that we've gotten very good at killing lots of people in messy ways.
>>
>>162264291
I've heard that theory as well. I would agree that there is some merit to it, but it does not probably stand to be the sole reason. The prolonging of tension without any relief- of constant fear for when death may come, without being able to see any signs of it approaching.
>>
>>162263071
I was always under the impression that the"experimenting" they did on Alucard wasn't boosting his powers, but applying seals TO his power to better keep him in check.
>>
>>162264291
The battles are "longer", but the actual engagement times are shorter but more sudden

>>
>multiple threads dedicated to Seras

Is there something I missed?
>>
>>162264839
the actual engagement is shorter, but the tension is always present, in Napoleon times you weren't afraid of a sudden midnight air strike destroying your whole camp, if anything you could sleep normally some day or 2, meanwhile modern day soldiers don't have that luxury
>>
>>162264839
Adding to >>162265590
In a Counter insurgency, hereafter called COIN, perspective, you could be patrolling around for an entire day or more, not knowing if or when something will start of. Not knowing if the man you see smiling and waving at you know will be picking up a rifle and shooting at you in a few minutes. Not knowing if your next step will set of a mine or someone might blow up an IED or you might fall into a punji stake trap. And you're in these conditions for months and months straight. COIN plays havoc on the mind for that reason.

also what happend wen integra dies?
>>
>>162260229
nah the werewolf commited assited suicide
>>

Bullshit, i use my breast pockets for pens and my idcard on my nwus
>>
>>162269049
Bloody, violent, Valhalla seeking assisted suicide. Much like roughly 90% of the cast.

Seriously, like four named characters aren't death-seekers.
>>
Remember watching this as a lad then having dreams that I worked for integra then Alucard turned me and ms victoria and I fucked
>>
Is there any explanation for the cat thing? It was the only problem i had with the series. Seemed like such a huge plot device.
>>
>>162269368
Schrodinger's cat. As a person.
>>
>>162269517
Yeah but why is that a thing? Where did it come from?
>>
>>162269538
The Dok made it so that they could use quantum uncertainty tied to a soul's self-perception to kill a being that acts as a melting-pot of souls.
>>
>>162252851
It was pointed out that her tits actually grew in each volume of the manga
>>
>>162269626
I know i'm probably taking it far too seriously but how do you make something like that in the first place? I don't think you need an army if you can create things so ridiculous.
>>
>>162269675
That's because Hiroe loves big titties
>>
>>162269538
>Yeah but why is that a thing
to cum inside
>>
>>162269675
Usually in relation to Hirano's stress at the time of drawing.

>>162269694
The army was at the Fuhrer's behest. The Cat was to kill Alucard. That's it. That was his only purpose. Hell, the Army's only purpose was to set up the situation that would allow the Cat to kill him. Well, that, and to die.
>>
>>162261339
The music was fucking great too
>>
>>162269737
It's just such a specific and convenient thing to be able to create to get the story to work and no explanation is given for how such a thing can even exist.
>>
>>162261588
>can't make a valid argument
>"I know, I'll just make jabs at their grammar. That'll show him!"
>>
>>162269811
Well, no real explanation for vampires is given, or the ghouls, or the werewolf, or Rip, who is neither, or Zorin, or how the Dok is still young despite being the one to do a full body clockwork cyborg conversion on the Major. What's a quantum impossibility added to that?
>>
>>162269882
Just things that Hirano didn't really think about. Really wish he'd finish Dawn. Also wish all his other shit would get scanned and translated, I kinda liked them.
>>
>>162269936
He has a lovely sort of charm, doesn't he? I think it's that his first priority is to make something "cool". Something that you can enjoy without reservation.
>>
>>162269963
I enjoyed his contribution to that one Gunbuster doujin.
>>
>>162269963
Fuck man, I really wanna read more of Ikaryaku. What are the chances of a group picking it up if brought to their attention?
>>
>>162253213
Tell her to get the fuck out. I'm not about to sit through Pip critiquing my performance from inside her body. Considering how hard he fell for her there's a good chance that he could very well pop out of her halfway through and either sucker punch my shit in a fit of jealousy.
>>162260965
>Captain
>going to far
Motherfucker had a body you could grind meat on and dope ass powers to the point that he kicked alucard in half and had to give seras a handicap to get what he wanted. Dude was the only solid thing to come out of Millenium outside of the Major's speeches.
>>
>>162270080
>Dude was the only solid thing to come out of Millenium outside of the Major's speeches.
Those, and Zorin's tits. I'm surprised there isn't more "art" of her and Seras "comparing".
>>
>>162252773

Well duh. Why do you think Zorin had such wonderfully large zeppelin breasts in Ultimate?
>>
>>162270115
Honestly, there's just a sad lack of Hellsing material in general.
>>

Seras is so goddam cute!
What makes her this good of a vampire?
And why is the official art of her the only good art? Surely its not THAT hard to emulate Hirano?
>>
>>162270606
I mean, Hirano DOES have a pretty distinct style when he really gets going. Just a picture of Seras, though? God hates us.

You can take the artist off of H-rated, but you can't take the H-rated out of their art.

"Fuck off Seras, I've had a long day"
>>
>>162270606
Hirano was already a H-artist, coupled with his unique art style makes it hard to copy since other H-artist usually put some of their own style to make it sexier or cuter, but that doesn't work too well, they look like completely different characters

>They're undead, not dead dead.
Vampires being undead was based on the idea that they have no soul. Most anime vampires, or for that matter most Western Vampires these days too, ignore that aspect entirely. The modern interpretation is that the vampire is still the same person as they were while human, which really couldn't be if their souls had left.
>>
>>162270947
No way, I know you have Pip inside you already, that's fuckin weird

This raises a good question: What happened to Alucard's soul? Or Seras'? Clearly, people who are "consumed" have their souls stuck inside the vampire for the rest of its un-life, but what about the vampire? Seras' soul wasn't in Alucard's "river of death", and Alucard wasn't turned in the "normal" way.

I think that in Hellsing, a vampire isn't a souless creature, but rather a creature who's soul have become firmly trapped within their body, and that all "Immortals" are the same way. Thus the only way to kill them is to take a page out of the Egyptian Book of the Dead and destroy the seat, the vessel, of their soul: The heart.

Yup. Curt Lowens, born Lowenstein. His family were trying to flee to the UK in 1940 via the Netherlands (they were East Prussian Jews) but they were captured the day before departure. His father was a lawyer, so he was able to keep Curt and his mother out of Auschwitz, but they were temporarily held in Westerbork. By 1944, his mother had died of illness in a hospital under a false name and he had joined a Dutch group that helped hide Jewish children. He later was at the arrest of Nazi leaders in Flensburg. He went on to appear in over 100 movies and tv shows after emigrating to America.

Wrote a book call "Destination ?" about his life.
