In all honestly, if someone were to ask me about this manga, I would point at one punch man and suggest them to read that.

Don't get me wrong, is not a bad manga, is just that OPM takes the same concept, (massively OP MC who's bored to dead of being so good at it, coming out as a jerk), but avoid the same mistakes and fill the gaps earlier in order to focus on the relevant bits.

As example, teppu spends a lot of time showing how hard is the MMA training, so the mc can show progress, like your typical sports manga. Except, from volume 2 or earlier, she already fought with national karate competitors and won, and she never loses any relevant (as in non-sparring) fight, so what was the purpose of the training? 100 push-ups, 100 sit ups and 10 km and that's it. You get a good joke out of it, save reader's time, and accentuate the unnatural talent of MC. Much better than dozen episodes talking about how mc is moving from the starting point to end in the starting point.

And following this, OPM spends a decent amount of time introducing and building the world and the characters, so once the "massively talented jerk MC wins easily yet another fight" trope runs it's course, there's already a bunch of sub-plots to pick and move on forward. In OPM, to put an example, almost the entirety of the sea king fight was about the nobody heroes trying to honour their reputation, their duty and standing to their ideals. It also sets the notion about Saitama being universally despised by the population, and his sacrifice to honour the other heroes who recognize him as their superior for this reason. In the entirety of teppu, there's not a single instance that have such repercussion on the setting as a whole. Teppu is basically natuso wins yet another fight, opponent gets angry, trains and is defeated again, rinse, repeat. Fuck, even the thick eyebrow gets repetitive and boring after the twelve time.

I`m not a big fan of spokons at all. But this manga was pretty good. I like its dark crazy atmospohere and mad characters. Character design is amazing. But anime adaptation never, I afraid.

Yeah, well, we go back to point one: teppu have a lot of mistakes regarding the overuse of the same elements that were introduced at the beginning. That doesn't change, and for someone who practices MA, this crashes any sense of realism. An untrained gal beating a properly trained black belt? Two girls with almost 20 cm in high difference on the same weight category? A coach being defeated by a loli with merely a knee to the face?

Yeah, verily realistic. All rounder megure and karate kyokushin kohinata minuro have a more ground approach to martial arts as a whole. Both spends a good deal of time explaining how hard can get the training, several characters go through different matches and opponents and loss more than once, either because the opponent was stronger or more technical, and try to be more clever in their jokes than inserting "eyebrow" in the name of every other chapter.

But, obviously, who the fuck cares about stuff like plot or development? Just give me my daily fix on muh waifu and call it a day.

A really great take on a different perspective in sports manga. The lead wasn't the typical work-hard protagonist who wins through determination and luck. Rather, it was from the perspective of the cold, talented rival who's natural abilities eclipse those of her peers from the very start. All that weighing against her, it was fun to watch her break down through her relationship with her brother as well as in her attempts to climb the ladder for the sake of beating down the "true" lead girl.

Better still, the side characters were cynical as fuck, especially against eyebrows. Calling her creepy and dissecting her lack of empathy was pretty great. The difference between "Woah, this girl is amazing" and "What the hell is wrong with her" really sold me on her relationships with others.

Getting a karate black belt is certainly easier than getting a black belt in Jiu Jitsu as you rank up as you advance in class. Jiu Jitsu requires mat time so in Karate you can be training really young and get a black belt even younger than 13. If you weren't already aware, there's a subtle thing which is left up for interpretation in the first chapter, which can later be understood correctly once one has read enough of the manga and understood Natsuo.

Hint: It happens within these pages.

The thing: In her mind, Natsuo has dediced she'll punch Yuzuko's face (which also builds up what expectations the readers will have of what is about to happen) In the last panel of page 31, Natsuo throws a punch which looks like it could land at its highest point on Yuzuko's cheek, or at its lowest point just below her throat, which is where it does Natsuo has a rather negative view on herself (one which she many times embraces in a twisted way and because of complex reasons), though it may not be very clear. Her emotions led her to believe she wanted to punch Yuzuko in the face, but when faced with the option to do so she couldn't bring herself to do it.Also another thing, the reason she decided not to put on headgear when Yuzuko asked her to was not because of arrogance,
but rather because Natsuo expected herself
to punch Yuzuko on her face, making it in her view immoral if she were to put on the headgear because Yuzuko wasn't wearing any and it wasn't equal.

Natsuo is very misunderstood by many readers I believe.
