it's not about good or bad, it's a style and you just happen to not like it

the implication that this style is somehow cheaper to animate is idiotic, since the frame rate is not considerably lower and the discrepancies between frames means they can't as easily base each one on the previous one

for example, the entirety of "Ping Pong the Animation" is animated in a toned down version of this style, as is one of the Animatrix segments

FLCL was directed with experimental animation styles in mind, which is why there are so many shots with unusual styles, like those "manga" segments, so it's not weird that this particular style is featured

the point you're trying to make is akin to saying "cubism is bad because I don't like it"

just move on and go watch something else
