Brilliant ideas executed like absolute shit to the point where it becomes funny from how shit it is. Writing was actually good in Zabuza arc, but once chuunin exam began, it went downhill and never recovered.

Part 1 was good, but the series quickly loses it's way and becomes utter shit in Part 2. Never seen so much retconning in my life, even Naruto's whole "you can change your destiny" skit from Part 1 is made into a complete joke since he turns out to a super powerful and gifted ninja due to his lineage.

The only "good" things delivered in the Part 2 was an okay final fight between Naruto/Sasuke, and Naruto finally becoming Hokage.

I couldn't bring me to watch a single Shippuden episode. Naruto became this artificial character whose every dialogue revealed this unflawed and rightful one dimensioned messiah he became, when he literally started as this braggart and lonely orphan scrub that hid in stores to read porn magazines.
I remember that Itachi's intentions were one of the most interesting mysteries of the series. Nothing in Shippuden delivered and it ignored all the strong points of the original series., hard work to mention one. Kakashi, Itachi, Hashirama, Madara, Sasuke etc, all were these naturally gifted child geniuses with an unrealistic "traumatic" past. Even Guy was naturally gifted with a will greater than that of anyone else.

Honestly? It would have been much better if whoever suggested introducing Sasuke and Sakura had been executed on the spot. Those two are trash. Kakashi should have been the main character. and the general tone from the Zabusa arc should have been the standard.

Since I understand this was meant as a battle shounen and nothing I wrote above was feasible, what we actually got was pretty solid even though the quality was uneven and it focused on the wrong characters until about the Pain arc (which had a terrible ending that almost entirely negates the whole thing), save for the parts that heavily featured theplot cancer known as the Uchiha clan. After the Pain arc ending, the whole story devolves into a mess that's somehow a complete train-wreck and a slog to get through. I guess it delivered in Naruto
becoming Hokage and having some sense of closure, but it could have been much better.

The power creep was insane. In part 1, Sarutobi causing a mud slide and Tobirama making water out of thin air prompts stunned gasps from the ANBU members around him. In the war arc, nobody gives a shit when nukes are being fired off by everyone, mountains are exploding everywhere, and it turns out Hashirama could make a giant wood mecha the size of a small country with a thousand arms except I guess he just didn't really feel like it that day and settled for making a small tree and trapping Sarutobi in the branches.

Yes, everything that came before the Pain arc's end (save from some of Sasuke's indefensible asspulled victories in his fights) were at the very least salvageable, even though the story was only good in the stretch from the Zabusa arc to the first Sasuke retrieval arc. This all only applies to the manga for me, as I dropped the anime since part II started and never looked back.

P2 was passable right until the Pain arc. Everything after it was trash, the power levels got ridiculously high and Naruto became even more unlikable.

It's not even a coherent homolust story either, since for most of part II Naruto's obsession is completely one-sided, and once Naruto "fixed" Sasuke he's no longer that interested in him and hangs out with his other (much better) friends.
