FSS style mecha is only really possible in animated form in recent times. There is simply no way anyone was going to be able to afford a traditional animation style, what with it nearly having no straight lines anywhere. CGI made it possible.

Nigga have you not seen Star Driver? FSS silhouettes work gorgeously in animation. It wouldn't be hard to animate FSS (not the story itself, just the designs) as long as some of the details can be toned down, which they usually are on animation models.

Problem is that Star Driver's animation was inconsistent and MH do not move like elastic super robots.

They move at subsonic speeds, to the human eye it looks like they're teleporting and warping their limbs like crazy. Star Driver isn't 100% accurate but it makes more sense than the slow-as-fuck turtles in the old movie.

GTMs move like mannequins so they would be even more bizarre to animate.
