>Ep 10: 29m
Please don't bully Shizuku anymore, she obviously has something wrong with her.
Looks like Shizuku is doing her specialty, making lewd faces.
Her personality seems to switch in between normal life and dancing. When it comes to dance she's very straightforward and can even come off as a bitch, but outside of dancing she's a bit of a doormat who acts completely different.
Hm I suppose you're right, it does look like it. I still don't like her though. It's weird how this anime reverses my tastes for anime girls. On the paper I should like tall dark and beautiful Shizuku more than kawai ugu Mako but in practice the reverse happened.
Next ep is definitely the end of this arc. Then she'll either appear in the episode after that or two episodes after. But if I had to guess, I'd say she's going to pop up in the first ep of the second cour.
Yeah, it's a bit jarring seeing how different she is in both settings. It's why I'm hoping the next arc in the manga is at least partly focused on her. I don't hate her like a lot of people seem to, but I do think she's a bland character compared to the other main dancers of this series.
Looks like it. Nips were complaining about the animation, or moreseo the lack of animation is a better way of putting it.
I do. It was like 1 chapter per dance or some shit.
I was never fond of the 'animation' so I just skip them and watch everything else. I can't wait to hear Chinatsu's voice.
So with only 13 episodes left, it's impossible for the Metropolitan cup arc to be animated, right? Then what's the point to follow this anime if they not animate the best arc?
Unless they have already planned a 3rd arc for this show in the future.
Oh well, at least I'll get to see Chinatsu in this blue dress.
I think they explained it early on. She adapts to whatever personality she needs to on the dance floor in order to match with whatever the type of dance is perfectly. Look how sensual she was during that latin dance with Hyoudou, and Hyoudou himself was the same way despite being a legit autist who is emotionless 99% of the time. In the manga Tatara is kind of doing the same thing. He ends up transforming himself to become the ideal to whoever his partner is.
I hope this picture is not a tease and they're actually bring the Metropolitan arc in the anime too. Though I'm not sure how will they do that with the current list of episodes left.
I just hope they get a voice who does Chinatsu justice. Hopefully whoever is voicing her is revealed soon.
Does anyone notice how the leader in this video kinda resemble Fujita? I mean even their names:
>Sota Fujii, name of the dancer in the video
This director was a mistake.
The sound director was a even bigger msitake.
Animator dying was a tragedy.
Almost just close-ups of faces and dumb commentary and music for dramatic effect.
Also, this episode was done by the second team, all off.
Mako cuteness is not enough to endure this torture.
She's growing on me finally. Don't know why it took this long for her to be remote likable. Also I want to lick the sweat off of her exposed back.
The fact that this thread is so dead only proves that the only things that kept this threads alive were the NTRposters and the shippers. At least the the manga threads there is new shit to talk about.
why don't they use motion capture and cgi?
this slide show is ridiculous.
From the preview it looks like they are saving it up for next ep. But yeah, there was no actual dancing this ep. Just more stills and Shizuku making lewd faces while the camera pans over her.
Because they have standards? Mocap and CGI would look absolutely hideous. If there's one thing great about this show, it's that the art is consistent. Very little QUALITY and lots of high detail artwork.
Next month, dude. It's monthly manga. In case you're missing, we have a thread about this month's chapter. You might want to search the archive for that.
/a/ doesn't hate it, more like they don't care about this show and this arc is prolonged and boring them to death, I think.
The shippers were okay, they didn't shit up the threads and the NTR shitposters already left long time ago. We just don't like to circle jerk and we patiently wait for new contents to come out and talk.
>Also I want to lick the sweat off of her exposed back
I'm trying to think up of a way to cut down some material from the manga, but so far everything feels essential to both Tatara's and Chinatsu's character development.
I WANT TO PROTECT HER.
How does Gaju keep it in his pants? Hyoudou I can understand since he's an autist with zero interest in females, but Gaju actually wants to fuck Shizuku and is pretty aggressive about the fact that he does unlike Tatara.
This is /a/, ANIME and mango. Motion capture is not anime.
They really need to go easy on the pan and scan.
The moment when you realize that you're a siscon.
Anyone else die of laughter during this scene?
>gaju cries and shizuku immediately comforts him
>tatara cries and she just stands there watching with an emotionless face while gaju mercilessly makes fun of him
Dumb fucking cunt. Can't wait for Chinatsu.
She just wants to win to catch up to Hyoudo. A crying partner wouldn't get her results. Tatara crying would increase her odds of winning.
An animator did not die. An episode director from a studio IG outsourced to died. To think his death effected the quality of episodes beyond what was outsourced to the studio he worked at (episode 2) is retarded.
Better a slow thread than a fast one filled with people like you.
As a ballroom dancer, the latest episode flat out made up a fake rule. This isn't a difference between Japanese ballroom dance and American ballroom dance. The dance they're doing (the waltz), belongs to a category of ballroom known as International Standard. The judging criteria for it in competition is universally uniform. I personally have been judged on the waltz by a judge flown over directly from Russia, that's how uniform the judging criteria for it is. There is no way to defend what Welcome to the Ballroom just did. It flat out lied about the rules of the sport, something that would get most sports anime cancelled immediately.
There's taking some minor liberties with accuracy for the sake of drama in a sports anime, and then there's flat out making up fake rules for the sport. The former is widespread in sports anime, the latter was practically unheard of until this week. I can't overstate how egregious and unheard of this is. Of course I wanted Welcome to the Ballroom to be successful, I was hoping it would help a wider audience see part of what made me fall in love with ballroom dance. But after all the missteps it already made that gave me reason for pause, it just crossed an uncrossable line. That's inexcusable. I'm not so sure that I want the anime to be successful anymore, since that would be rewarding such egregious behavior. It's like the writers aren't even trying and are just relying on the fact that almost all of their audience knows nothing about ballroom dance. There's no reason to celebrate that, the universal reaction to that should be condemnation. How anyone can like this misogynistic drivel is beyond me
Agreed. Maybe it's a reflection of its shounen origins, but I've found Ballroom especially annoying for its patriarchal presentation of gender roles. The girls have little agency, depending as Mako did for their partners to "make them bloom." The female characters are treated like property for the males to fight over. What little I've read about competitive ballroom dancing stresses the partnership aspects of the sport. This whole "frame and flower" business makes it appear the women are just there to be ornamental and not athletes in their own right. The whole presentation seems about fifty years out-of-date.
Jesus Christ, the QUALITY was all over the place in today episode. A lot of 'off-model' characters, and a lot of derp faces.
>something that would get most sports anime cancelled immediately.
Seeing someone blow a gasket over the procedures and judging format makes the anime more attractive, though. Means there might be something to this show. May be worth picking up
Contrast with Yuri! on Ice for instance, which based on discussions of the show is about professional faggots, not skaters.
She went from
>nag nag nag nag Hyodou nag nag nag nag
>Maybe Tatara is not my enemy, maybe Mako is not my enemy
But she's bound to get bitchy again when Hyodou innevitably becomes way too good for her.
The face of NTR.
that's a great panel
Is this the past of the week time again or something? Anyway, that's an unofficial unranked tournament, they explicitly say that in previous episode you autist. Special rules, if you're even being serious.
My sister also tried to get me to start dancing with her. That scene hit too close to home.
What did he mean by this?
Loli shizuku a cute
I would forgive this anime adaptation if they saved up all the animation for Chinatsu - Tatara dancing.
What a fucking boss.
>tells whores to fuck off
>tells his pupil to stop being shit
>tells off snobby douchebags when they start crying like little bitches
Sengoku is literally saving anime
whats the point of making this an anime if they're not going to animate anything? i swear this show is 99% close ups, stills/pan shots, giraffe necks, and battle auras. i just wanted to see some dancing. shingeki no bahamut had more dancing than every episode of ballroom combined.
Kazuchika Kise is directing, storyboarding, and supervising the animation for episode 10. Would be nice if he could invite some of his veteran animator friends who usually work on movies.
Don't forget about the constant flashbacks to the last episode. Man, production IG, what are you doing? How could this have been AOTS so easily (it's such a weak season to boot) and is this turning out to be such an underwhelming show?
>this fucking Chad dance teacher
How is he such an Alpha/bro?
btw. I want to marry him.
According to Boya Liang, who is one of the animation supervisors, Kazuchika Kise animated almost the whole episode with no corrections from the director or chief animation supervisor.
