Depends. There were some battles I liked a lot, but often times it's a mess.
I call this trope "Sunrise Prototype Mecha", it's not just a Code Geass thing either. Same shit in a lot of Gundam series, single prototype destroying entire armies.
It gets pretty bad in R2. I'd still recommend you give it a chance, that being said, the series is in no way perfect.

Both. A secret cabal will be shown to have collected some of Lulu's blood from his stabbing and used the dna to clone him. This Lelouch has the original's personality but is far more ruthless and mentally unhinged, leading a campaign of terror in the name of this cabal. At the same time, the real Lelouch returns, apparently he did in fact receive the Code and just took a long time to recuperate from his wounds. So the 2nd half of the season is about the two Lelouches facing off, Fukuyama vs Fukuyama.
