There are a whole bunch of different Garo series focused on different Garos (the MCs). The first anime, Honoo no Kokuin, is a good entry point for anyone. It's the only one set in medieval Spain, the toku live action shows (the main part of the franchise) are set in modern japan.

Originally a late night Tokusatsu horror series (Toku = special effects. Godzilla/Ultraman/etc.. Think Power Rangers, but without the garbage american C-list acting, the dumb localization or the awful script writing and dialogue), it got really popular and received multiple sequels, movies, and later on anime (as well as Pachinko machines)

Already is. The original came out in 2006 and was a massive hit, it got a sequel or a movie of some sort every year. The anime side of thing is more of a distant spinoff, same setting but with a whole different set of unrelated characters.

The first season for live action Garo the CG is a bit rough but it's still worth watching as everything else is great. The other seasons has much better CG, even better than the CG stuff you see in Kamen Rider and Sentai (Power Rangers).
