I honestly don't even know why I decided to read this chapter since I dropped this series back around when that whole Devil house part started. I check back every year or so and somehow I still understand what's going on because the plot advanced in a direction that was obvious years ago but for some reason the author decided to fuck around with it for years.

Agreed. Although the whole thing is such an crazy hilarious/awesome lsd trip anyway that I'm not sure I'd have a problem with anything Hayashida decides to pull at this point. I'll definitely have to marathon this again though once it's actually done with, I've lost the plot a bit but even crazy stuff sometimes makes a lot more sense when it's read in close succession rather then over years and years.

We don't know how busted he is going to be. If every single ex-devil is in a comparable spectrum between Noi and En, that's pretty broken. Kaiman probably gets some variation of super strength, flight, and healing abilities if we are being boring with it, and if we get weird with it he can turn things to gold by touching them, give inanimate objects life, telepathically control all gyoza in existence, and can fart pocket dimensions. Plus he just needs to get a hold of the knife.

Why wouldn't the devils be able to revert his face once they have their devil powers back? They are almost omnipotent in that form. Bringing back the dead? No problem. Changing a face? Ah, no. That's too hard.
Kaiman's magic resistance might be boosted even more, but devil magic isn't really the same as regular smoke magic.(admittedly I can't remember if there was any moment at which a devil tried to use magic on him and if it succeeded)

this chapter was pretty disappointing.
I thought that nikaido was going to save the day with some really convoluted but also really cool time travel plan where all her devil future self appearances lined up.
but instead it looks like every time she died she just used time magic to undo her death until she used up all 5 charges which isn't a clever plan at all.
now the final battle is going be decided by hurr kaiman with magic buffs vs hole.
It's alright but I know that hayashida could have done better
The part of the final arc inside the hole department store had a greater sense of clima to it.
What I was hoping for was something like the balls-to-the-wall ending of Maken , one of hayashida's earlier manga but more coherent.
the department store setting could have lived up to that but after that it's been anti-climactic.
I think Hayashida has made a mistake by extending the series longer than she was originally planning like this.
She was going to make the department store the final battle but decided again. I think she didn't want to let go of her baby and wanted to keep writing the characters for longer. which I can sympathise with.
Overall it is still quite a nice ending but it could have been better
