How much value do you put into visual direction?

Fuck off.
I'm retarded so it makes no difference to me
Enough so that I don't pretend that trash is any good.
It should complement the plot and not try to hide it if it's bad.

>slow panning shots at unusual angles
>quality visual direction
yawn

Enough to favorite a show assuming the story is decent. I can't enjoy a show entirely unless both conditions are met.
Ah, I missed those threads
>>161988982
Not a lot. I care more about story and characters.

What is visual direction, exactly?

A lot, if they're gonna use a visual medium to tell a story they should use every opportunity to tell a story through the images too
5 out of 10. It needs to at least look like it wasn't animated without anti-aliasing, and I need to be able to tell what every object on the screen is at all times. After that, I don't care, but I am appreciative if you make it look nice.
