The gags were very, VERY or miss.

Gags were kinda hit or miss. Sometimes it leaned into the moe stuff a little to much and that was pretty bad. Overall I liked it a lot but I wouldn't blame anyone who didn't like it.

I love the animation and the characters, some skits were "too japanese" for me to get, and some where just hilarious.

I'm watching it and no scene with mai is funny. /b/ tier humor but some jokes are funny.
Overall not so good but enjoyable animation.

It is animated well, I'll give it that.

Forced anymation is an unnecessary shaking and jittering of a character to fool you into believeing that he is animated, when he's actually not. It's a technique implemented mostly in anime with a low budget. Nichijou's animation is an absolute opposite of that

The high paced lol-so-random short comedy skits are not really to my liking. I also find that kind of animation, like Azumanga Dioh, to be a bit lacking. The animation is used well though I'll give it that. I dropped Nichijou around episode 7. Will try to force my way through it again sometime. I can see why it's praised.

Yeah that is more like what I enjoy watching. Less high paced short comedy skits and more comfy paced cohesive slice of life. I'll add it to my list and give it a shot.
