I picked up the show because she was cute as a button. I stayed for the well written characters and down to earth story.
I honestly couldn't say who I like more, Yoshino or Maki.

Similarly, I was strongly pro-Sanae, with Maki in second. But of late, Maki's unfolding personality and her struggle to come to terms with her highly relatable vulnerabilities have been complicating that ranking.

Overall, it probably has to be said that Maki is best Quest.
