If you're talking about Zeke then he even went as far as to admit that the way he treated Zeke was pretty much his biggest mistake. The thing is, while Zeke eventually came to be their warrior recruit, there was still a period of time in which he was just Grisha and Dina's son, born of what seemed like an honest love. I think he was just an unhappy child from the start who wouldn't have been satisfied regardless, even before he was going to be made into a warrior. He wasn't smiling even in the family photo. That's probably never going to be expanded upon, though.

Grisha was a kid. His thought process was simple and thought everyone would follow the rules rationally. Obviously, the hatred against Eldians is an irrational factor in all this. So I'd say no, Grisha wasn't taught this because the cruelty of the world is something you have to experience to really understand. He did well into his adulthood after that and never seemed to get into trouble until the restorationists provided an opportunity to make right his wrongs.
