The movie project is the best when it comes to animation and action, that's for sure, but the plot was shit and brought nothing to the table. The anime has Momoshiki and Kinshiki as actual characters that most likely will have more impact and characterization than the sudden jobbers than they were in the manga and movie. The problem with Naruto and Sasuke is that the more they are in screen, the more the focus shifts to them, because of course the viewers want to see more of them, they are used to watch them as the main focus for more than 15 years, but their story is done already, and giving them more focus would be like extending their story needlessly. Naruto is supposed to be over already. The only way to actually continue the series and have potential to be good is completely shifting the focus away from them, and the best way to do this is to give more focus and development to the new kids and their own completely new affairs that they will have to face by themselves.

Kobayashi's been hyping up the upcoming episode again. Gaiden has been pretty weak with its animation, but the climax should hopefully deliver some impressive action scenes. Also, this will probably be the first time Sakura gets a well-animated action scene since episode 26 of Shippuden.

It's a bad series, a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive shipping faggotry and DARKNESS. The normal anon can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.
However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of its core make it a breeding ground for aspie, unsociable underageb& faggots who engage in every kind of faggotry both online and in the real world. The superpowered characters all trying their hardest to look cool, the jutsus, peculiar, colorful clothes, the whole ninja faggotry and everything about the Naruto world fuels their escapist fantasies, while the pity-party character backgrounds, emphasis on revenge, and overall preachiness of the series make it fit just right with the mary-sueish drives of your average preteen and his sense of unwarranted self-importance towards the world. Exactly the kind of shit that makes little kiddies and underageb& retards eat this shit right the fuck up.
Naruto is basically THE series to attract the most hated anime fanbase known to /a/, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every anon to troll the fuck out of this show and everyone who likes it, and ensure that no Naruto threads ever encourage the newfriends to show their faces here.

I watched Naruto as a twelve year old over ten years ago. It went downhill from Zabuza, but it's still very comfy. After the manga ended I stopped following the anime because the war arc was such a slog. But I like Boruto and think it has the potential to be just as good as the original. It's like Naruto remix, getting to see them all as kids again.

Anyone else feel like Naruto wasn't as developed as it could have been? They could have easily made it as long as One Piece by having arcs set in the other villages involving their bijuu. Instead they were mostly killed off screen and appeared as zombies in the war arc. Such a waste of cool designs.

I wouldn't say Kishimoto did little with Hinata, he didn't do it often, but he did everything that he needed to and rounded up her character arc perfectly fine.
Hinata had a clear problem - being shunned by Hyuuga clan. That nurtured her clear flaw - low self-esteem. And she had a clear goal from it - to prove her worth to herself. She had a path that she walked and ended up becoming better as person.
Sumire could have it too, but they didn't give her shit. Her motivation was "because dad said so" which is up there with Madara's "because rock said so" in pointlessness. And she got talked out of it by just Boruto reminding her that she has friends, which, considering how she already resigned herself to attacking Konoha, probably meant that she already values her mission above the fact, unless she just forgot. I had hopes that maybe it would be Sai to stop her, because he was framed as the person resolved to save her out of his own understanding of her, so Sumire would learn from his meaningful life experience, but he got jack shit because with commercial-oriented writers the main job has to always be done by the protagonist or else you lose ratings.
