Every tournament arc is better than the one before it (apart from the very last one) and the anime never made it that far, and it also cut out a shitload of stuff to get to the last fight of the tournament they ended on. The voice acting was amazing in it though.

Sequel is the same thing. All of Miyashita's work are pretty similar. I really want to read Seikimatsu Bakurouden Saga, the chapters I have read and the live action movie were all nice.

I finally got around to reading Kongou Banchou recently and I can see why a lot of people thought it was heavily influenced by Sakigake Otokojuku, it wasn't quite as good though.
