She was opening up to the sempai, but it was mostly with her going along with the flow and not actually much of actively wanting to get the sempai pussy.

Her falling in love was a byproduct of the time they spend together, something both not really desired by the characters, or at least not desired by the sempai. That's why you don't see MC admit it to herself an she has to keep lying to her sempai.
