Why are bankais in Bleach so imbalanced? Like, some people get utterly broken powers like "I get to make up a game based on my rules and if you don't follow it you die," then there are people who get utterly useless and unimaginative shit powers like
>really big knives
>a caterpillar
>sword gets long and looks like Onyx
>ice wings

Because Kubo was a hack.
>>161720176
Hey that caterpillar could kick your ass
>>161720176
same reason why powers in jojo range from "I can fence" to "i can manipulate the fundemental laws of the multiverse" or powers in HxH range from deez hands to O MY RUBBER NEN
>>161720176
Like all powers, it just depends on the user's proficiency. The physical manifestations don't really mean anything.
I'm pretty sure every single form can be made to be super freaking OP, if the user had some imagination.

Powers in hxh are learned, and are mostly balanced when it comes to humans.
>>161720583
they're determined by personality so if somebody has shit powers, they're either gonna have to evolve it till it gets not shit or modify their brain/personality by going to Mayuri.
>>161720645
They're only balanced because anyone with a good ability who's not Kurapika or Hisoka ends up being a frail nerd.
Notice how all the god tier powers just equate to hitting things really hard like the boddhavista, adult gon and the nen dragons?
>>161720176
Because they're pretty much made up on the spot for the sake of providing a spectacle.
Personally, I thought the earlier ones were cooler and had more impact, whereas the later ones alway seemed alittle disappointing
Because suddenly one morning, Kubo realized that instead of doing supernatural Seven Samurai, he wanted to become Nisio with dumb word plays and ironic meta bullshit because kids apparently like that these days
>>161720176
>expecting anything else from shonen
>>161720176
all they need to do is look cool
>>161720280
this.

As Aizen said, all those powers are useless againts really strong enemies
