Hell, even if he DIDN'T have the whole 'keeping the seal closed' thing and was legit just making humanity stronger that still really isn't fully evil given the context of the world. Demons had been using humanity as their playthings for ages before this, and the gods had basically been manipulating humanity to worship them as well. Also he shouldn't have any love lost for the demons because they butchered his people and forced them into the holy castle of the man who would become his father in the first place. And they really abused the fuck out of him as a boy when he was cast out of the safe confines of their castle to die.

His hatred for the gods and demons and wanting humanity to stand on it's own feet will make more sense then.

Even favaro will begin to be swayed by him, till he sees what he wants to do to bacchus and where he's kept jeanne for the last few years.

Would like it if he was put into a position where he could sacrifice Nina to bring back Bahamut the true ruler of the world and the living prison that keeps his love trapped forever.

In terms of the show's quality drop the pacing is the main offender. This would have worked best as a 16 episode anime, but it doesn't work that way.

What's this show even about? Usually a 2 cour action anime has a clear overarching plot, a goal or some kind of looming threat. This one is going nowhere, it takes me several days to watch each episode because there's no urgency and no hook to lure me in and on top of that I don't care what happens to the characters. Most of them could die in the next episode and I wouldn't bat an eye. The only time it gets any fun is when they let Favaro or Rita get loose. All the Azazel bullying was entertaining but that's over now. Charioce was interesting at first when they were trying to sell him as a ruthless king trying to empower humanity, but his character went down the drain too when he turned out to be a demon sympathizer and an emotional young adult who constantly lets the main characters get away. The romance plot has been a complete failure and a drag from the moment they introduced it.
