Optimistically I want to think this. Kyoani is about to enter a new era of masterpieces every season, but before they can do that they need to wrap up all their ongoning franchises so they can clear their mind of old anime and concentrate fully on their new era.

More pessimistically, Kyoani is struggling and have nothing to adapt, and haven't yet understood that their old anime isn't that good anymore. Their new movies will flop, Kyoani will have no work and they go bankrupt. Alternatively it could represent Kyoani abandoning the TV market.

It is true that they have nothing good to adapt, but they aren't struggling.
Maid Dragon is quite an interesting case with Kyoani leading the committee, and likely being the company that initially wanted to adapt Maid Dragon. Though this only works for niche manga/LN.
