I wonder who could be behind this
>>
Enty has existed in Japan for quite some time now. Kickstarter isn't going to be big there.
>>
>new
/a/ fundraised the second OVA of Little Witch Academia a long time ago. This is nothing new, you retard.
>>
>>161382150
Was it through kickstarter? I'm sure the likes of that will much easier to do going forward with this platform.
>>
>>161382296
yes it was though kickstarter

Can we make hentai isekai ?

I hope hentai artists try it. Good animation hentai is few and far in between.

Some high quality posting right here.
>>
>>161382864
They've got their money from Enty for a while. That shit encourages one trick ponies and even more blatant cheap commercialization, because of direct consumer pandering.
>>
Gakuen Handsome was crowdfunded
>>
>>161381962
Kickstarter is a fucking scam.

Also, there are already Japanese versions of Kickstarter with less restrictions in Japan so I don't understand why Kickstarter is so eager to jump on the Japan bandwagon/
>>
>>161383119
Well KS goal is to make money.
>>
>>161383119
KS has huge name recognition.

The west has versions of Kickstarter with less restrictions too but KS's is still trucking.

>>161381962

No thanks.

Remember Under the Dog guys?
>>
>>161382150
Also Nekopara raised nearly 1 million (10x original goal) for an OVA.
>>

I do. Remember Red Ash Gearworld?

japan is ripe for subversive education right now.
>>
This wont change anything because unlike white people, no other human race is willing to throw that much money at shit they enjoy and want created. Handing some shadey company money in hope that they deliver waht they promised because thats how much you love your hobby really is western/white people exclusive phenomenon. Japanese dont even have enough time to care that much about their hobbies to be honest.
>>
>>161383119
>why Kickstarter is so eager to jump on the Japan bandwagon

¥¥¥¥¥¥

>If your project is successfully funded, the following fees will be collected from your funding total: Kickstarter's 5% fee, and payment processing fees (between 3% and 5%). If funding isn't successful, there are no fees.
>>
>tfw despera will probably be the first
>>
>>161385573
So what's stopping people from setting a 1 billion dollars kickstarter when they only need 1 million and avoid the fees
>>
>>161386161
The fact that you need something that looks completely ridiculous to reach 1bn? I dont even know what the biggest kickstarter scam is. Star Citizen is considered one of them and even that title only managed to reach like 2.5m iirc.
>>
>>161386194
Aren't there reach goals or whatever?
Just formally set the upper limit to 1B, and then write that the actual amount is 1M, and extended goals go all the way up to 1B
>>
>>161386220
To have people fund you for a million you will always need a really appealing product. But yes, technically you can extend the goals all the way to a billion but theres no way youll ever even reach a hundred million in the 30 days given unless you sell some completely revolutionary tech, in which case you wouldnt have to kickstart it. You dont gain anything from putting stretch goals to a billion.
>>
>>161386252
Yes you do
The point is avoiding the fees, not actually getting 1 billion
Say you want to make a season of anime, you need 2/3 million right?
You set the amount to 2.5 billion, and say that with 2.5 million you can already do it, and if you reach all the way to that insane amount you'll make 1000 episodes or something
You'll never reach the 2.5 billion so you just take whatever you get and then make what you said without gettimg robbed by intermediaries
>>
>>161381962
About time. Fuck the animation industry, production companies should be a thing. We would all be way better off if shows came with a donation box at the end and let people decide what THEY think a show is worth, rather than playing for shitty outdated physical media like Blu-rays and dvds.
>>
>>161386328
You don't get any money if you don't reach your goal.

Have you seen how much money idol franchises generate?
>>
>>161388198
Theres a pretty big difference between spending money on stuff that has an established rep and what most kickstarter campaigns are. And if all they host happen to be OVAs, well then it wont change the industry it just adds more shitty bonus material to what mostly are shitty shows.
>>
>>161386360
You choose wether or not you get the money even if it fails at the beginning of the campaign.
However it has a very bad rep.
>>
So what do the Japs think about this? Is it going to really change anything?

I for one welcome this new age of even cheaper anime.
Maybe it will finally shut the naive idealistic faggots who don't understand how the industry actually works.

Worth every cent I've spend on it. I only wish they had also thrown in a mango translation. Oh well. It'll remain forever untranslated.
