To enjoy GT you absolutely have to forget any hope of it respecting rules stated before.
Enjoy it as an alternative take on Goku's adventures from early DB, with fights where rules are explicitly stated, sadly lacking the heroic feel of Z's fights. Also SS4's god-tier design, especially coupled with Goku's grave and badass dubbed voice.
