It's typically Earth to Fuckwherever Fantasy land, but it counts for going to a parallel universe Earth, fictional world to another fictional world, etc.

Both of them are exploring effectively the aftermath of a vidya world. No idea how far Overlord takes it, but in NG it's heavily implied that the world is an afterlife for those who died in the game (death game, pretty much just SAO). It's pretty interesting seeing how the NPC companions of the players, having been trained far beyond the average NPC, effectively ended up running the world. Also, bonus points for having actual romantic development that's partially tied to the isekai.

So this has been bothering me. Do any authors actually have an ending in mind when making an isekai series?

I mean, one of the reasons why manga like Fullmetal Alchemist of Assassination Classroom were so good was because the mangaka knew how things were going to end from the start. It feels as if most isekai just have a premise, and the author just tapers out afterwards. They never even think of planning ahead.

Most of this shit comes from syosetu/alphapolis which are basically made up of amateurish writers.
While some of the more experienced ones do have the common sense of setting up the story table and all the major plot points beforehand, the massive majority just writes until they either get bored or out of ideas which is why most isekai stories are made of tangent plots and a constant influx of secondary characters that will barely have any impact.

Translations are slow. And the raw chapters being long as fuck don't help either.
The story focuses alot on the effects of the blending of two cultures and conspiracies of the governments and various organizations. And MC being how he is intentionally gets wrapped into it because it's what he did int he fantasy world and it's the best way to protect what he wants to protect.
MC is pretty broken as an individual and the story lets you know this when he takes deadly amount of damage and the first thing he acts worried about is if everyone else is okay.
Also his mother and father divorced after he disappeared. Mother believed him dead, father held out hope. Father remarried and had a new child. Mother went a little crazy but slowly got better due to his little siblings until he showed up again. She doesn't consider him her son because her son couldn't have survived.

I read something in syosetu once, I already forgot the title. In the story, there was a paragraph explaining human desire to destroy/broke/disrupt something orderly.
The author gives 3 example, first is knocking over a trash can or a stack of goods. Second is destroying flower garden. The problem is the third example, punching a pregnant woman.
That lines really took me off, I can understand the last two example but the third ones makes me wonder if there's actually people like that or this author actually have psychopath tendency.

Neither of them are isekai but so far I like the one where the Demon Lord's Daughter is super powerful but she just wants to be a NEET and hide and sleep inside the church she took up residence in. Except she's so powerful that she ended up revitalizing all the wasteland area for miles around the church. Which causes the humans to decide to resettle the territory and they end up thinking she's a Goddess. It's pretty amusing so far since she tries to tell them who she actually is, but they think she's just being childish because she's not threatening at all.

Other one is the fallen Goddess that ended up becoming the Goddess of a small town of beastkin and helping them develop.

Future Story Events

After being at the church for a bit, she gets adopted by the noble lord, with the caveat that she can no longer meet her family. A little bit later she goes into another magic induced coma for a few years which stunts her growth even more.

Then she goes to school and starts learning things and eventually discovers that she's been fulfilling the list of things one has to do to become 'King'. Also she has some magical shenanigans happen to her that makes her actually look her age.

In the LN she's still at the Arachne stage while training Sophia. Also Ariel is the one that named her in the LN. She did it because in the system, supplying a name to someone, establishes a kind of hierarchy with the other person with the name supplier on top. There was no effect on Shiro much to Ariel's annoyance.
